국문 초록

도산의 문명관은 전통과 근대의 접점에서 전개된 독립활동에 내제된 도산의 문명의지를 반영하고 있다. 도산의 성장 시기를 도산의 문명관이 형성된 배경으로 보았고 그 시기가 근대화와 문명의 격동기였다는 점에 주목했다. 그래서 근대화와 문명의 접근 틀을 근대화와 문명개화, 독립운동, 부국강병의 상관성을 기초로 분석하였다. 근대화와 문명개화에서 독립운동으로 그 연관성에 주목한 것은 일본식민지체제하에서 전개된 독립운동과 내제된 문명개화의지의 영향성과 그 지향방향이 부국강병이라는 점이다. 이런 시각에서 연구자는 도산의 문명관을 첫째, 문명국가주의, 둘째, 문명혁신주의, 셋째, 문명향상주의로 제시하였다. 그리고 도산이 추구한 문명의 의미와 문명국가의 방향은 단순히 일국에 국한된 것이 아니라 전 인류의 완전한 행복을 지향하고 있다는 점에서 현대의 변화와 소통문제해결의 단초를 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

The conception of civilization of Dosan Ahn, Chang Ho reflects commitment of civilization inherent in independence activities deployed at the point of contact of the tradition and the modern. Period of growth of Dosan is considered as the background in which concept of civilization of Dosan was formed and I focus on the fact in which this period was turbulent period of modernization and civilization. Thus, the framework of modernization and civilization is analyzed on the basis of the correlation among modernization, civilization, enlightenment, independence movement and national prosperity and military power. The reason why I focus on the relevance of modernization and enlightenment to independence movement is that effects and its directions of independence movement deployed under the Japanese colonial regime and commitment of inherent civilization is national prosperity and military power. From this perspective, the researcher presents concept of civilization of Dosan as follows: First, it is civilization nationalism. Second, it is culture innovation. Third, it is culture improvement. The meaning of civilization and direction of civilized country that Dosan pursed is not confined to one country but is the perfect happiness of entire mankind oriented world. Therefore, it proposes the clue of solution of modern changes and communication problems.
