국문 초록

사주명리는 동양적 사고방식을 바탕으로 한 학문으로서, 한국인의 기층 인식체계를 이루는 일부가 되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 설문조사를 통한 실증분석을 이용하여 우리나라 일반인들의 사주에 관한 의식을 파악하고, 조사대상의 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 사주의식 영향요인을 알아보았다. 본 연구의 대상은 2014년 현재 부산 지역에 거주하는 20세이상 성인남녀로서, 자기기입식 설문지법을 이용하여 총 270명의 자료를 분석에 활용하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사대상자는 한번쯤은 정식으로 사주를 본 경험이 있으며, 삶의 중요한 문제나 과업에 대해 사주가 영향을 줄 것으로 생각하고, 사주와 같은 선천성이 삶의 중요한 문제에 영향을 주고 있다고 생각하였다. 둘째, 사주의식 요인에 대한 전반적인 경향에서 사주가치에 대한 평균값이 가장 높아, 사주의 과학적, 학문적 가치와 정확성을 인정하여, 사주를 미신으로 치부하던 인식이 개선되었음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 성별은 사주의식에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 연령은 사주의식의 사주지식 요인과 사주인식 요인에, 교육수준은 사주지식 요인과 사주행동 요인에, 직업은 사주지식 요인과 사주태도 요인에, 월 평균소득은 사주지식 요인과 사주감성 요인에, 결혼여부는 사주의식의 사주지식 요인과 사주감성 요인, 사주가치 요인에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해, 우리나라 일반인들의 사주에 관한 의식과 인구사회학적 특성을 중심으로 한 영향요인을 파악할 수 있었으며, 사주명리학이 한국인의 의식과 생활양식에 많은 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 사주가 사회현상의 근간이 되는 철학적 원리로 수용될 수 있도록 하는 방안이 마련되어야 할 것이며, 사주명리학의 저변 확대를 위한 기초연구도 보다 다양하게 수행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

Saju-myungri is a discipline that is built on Asian way of thinking. That is deeply rooted in the unconscious of Korean people and is the foundation of the Korean cognitive system. The purpose of this study was to examine the Saju awareness of people in general in our country by conducting a survey and making an empirical analysis, and to investigate sociodemographic characteristics affecting their awareness of Saju. The subjects in this study were the selected male and female adults who were at the ages of 20 and up and resided in the region of Busan as of 2014. A self-administered survey was conducted, and the answer sheets from 270 respondents were analyzed. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the respondents had consulted a fortuneteller once or more. They thought that Saju would affect important matters in life, and that inborn destiny such as Saju would impact on critical matters in life as well. Second, as for a pervasive trend in the factors of Saju awareness, they gave the best marks to the value of Saju, which implied that the scientific and academic value and accuracy of Saju were acknowledged, and that there was consequently a favorable change in the former way of looking at Saju as a superstition. Third, gender was found not to have affected Saju awareness. Age exercised an influence on the factor of Saju knowledge and the factor of Saju cognition among the elements of Saju awareness, and educational level had an impact on the factor of Saju knowledge and the factor of Saju behavior. Occupation exerted an influence on the factor of Saju knowledge and the factor of Saju attitude. Monthly mean income affected the factor of Saju knowledge and the factor of Saju sensitivity, and marital status had an impact on the factor of Saju knowledge, the factor of Saju sensitivity and the factor of Saju value. The findings of the study showed how people in general in our country perceived Saju and which sociodemographic characteristics affected it. As it's found that Saju-myungrihak exerted a huge influence on the awareness and lifestyles of Korean people, how Saju can be accepted as a philosophical principle that explains social phenomena should carefully be considered, and extensive research efforts should be channeled into Saju-myungrihak to lay the solid groundwork for that.
