국문 초록

Wille zur Macht가 니체철학의 핵심 개념임은 분명하다. 그러나 Wille zur Macht는 다의적이며, 논쟁적인 개념이다. 우선 번역에서 Wille zur Macht를 ‘힘 에의 의지’로 하자는 주장과 ‘권력의지’로 하자는 주장이 있다. 양 번역은 각각 장단점이 교차한다. 그러므로 Wille zur Macht는 텍스트의 맥락에 따라, 때로는 힘 에의 의지로, 때로는 권력의지로 번역되어야 한다. Wille zur Macht의 정치적 함의를 보다 분명히 하기 위해서 우리는 권력 (Macht), 잔혹함(Grausamkeit) 또는 폭력(Gewalt), 물리적 힘(Kraft)의 개념적 차이를 니체의 텍스트 속에서 분석해야 한다. 니체는 분명히 Wille zur Kraft라 는 개념 대신 Wille zur Macht라는 개념을 선택하였다. 잔혹함 또는 폭력은 Wille zur Macht의 하위범주로 분류될 수 있음을 글쓴이는 본 논문에서 논증하였다. 니체 텍스트에서 구체적 정치이론을 찾는 것은 쉽지 않다. 그럼에도 불구하고 글쓴이는 1. 원한이론 2. 약속이론 3. 강자와 약자의 권력투쟁이론을 니체의 대표적인 정치이론으로 제시하였다. 힘에의 의지의 정치이론적 함의에 대한 논쟁은 여전히 진행 중이다. 예를 들면 게하르트(V. Gerhardt)는 니체의 약속이론 이 정치적 행위의 공간을 열었으며, 니체는 인간실존의 사회성에 대한 이론가라고 주장한다. 반면, 마르티(U. Marti)는 니체의 자율적이며, 초관습적인 개인의 독재성은 계약과는 무관하며 태고적의 국가 건립자와 닮아있음을 지적하고 있다. 글쓴이는 니체의 차라투스트라의 모습에 주목하고자 한다. 그의 행동과 발언은 정치적인가? 아니면 고독한 메시아의 외침인가? 정치철학자로서의 니체와 反 정치적 철학자로서의 니체는 공존한다. 하지만 차라투스트라의 모습은 플라톤대화편의 논자들과 달리, 후자에 가깝다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

It is obvious that ‘Wille zur Macht’ is Nietzsche’s philosophical key concept. But Wille zur Macht has diverse meanings and it is also controversial concept. First, in translation Wille zur macht in korean is polemical. Intersect the translations, each of his strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, Wille zur macht should be translated into text in the concret context. To get the more accurate political implications of Wille zur macht, the implications of power(Macht), violence(Gewalt), cruelty(Grausamkeit) and force(Kraft) in Nietzsche’s text, should be scrutinizingly analyzed. Nietzsche has chosen definitely Wille zur Macht, instead of Wille zur kraft. Power, violence, force and cruelty all that could be classified as a subcategory of Wille zur Macht. Nietzsche has written on the political themes in terms of Wille zur Macht; 1. theory of resentiment 2. genealogy of memory 3. power struggle between the strong and the week. Nevertheless, discussions on the political implications of Wille zur macht are still under debate. V. Gerhardt said that Nietzsche’s political theory has opened space for political action of promise, and then Nietzsche could be a theorist about the sociality of human beings. On the other hand, U. Marti argues that Nietzsche’s sovereign and anti-conventional individual seems to be dictator of a private builder of ancient greek polis. Therefore, it could be said that to find the political connotations of Wille zur Macht in the text of Nietzsche, isn’t easy. To pay close attention to the text of Nietzsche’s Zarathustra helps us solve the problem. His behavior and words are political? or just solitary voice of a Messiah? Images of Zarathustra are tending to the latter, compare to Plato’s speakers in dialogues.
