초등학생을 대상으로 한 학교기반 국내 성교육 프로그램 연구 동향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 초등학생을 대상으로한 성교육 관련 프로그램 국내 연구 동향을 살펴보고, 초등학교 성교육 프로그램의 특성을 체계적으로 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하며, 이를 통해 향후 초등학생들을 위한 성교육 프로그램의 개발과 발전 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학생을 대상으로 성교육 프로그램을 시행한 국내 학술지 논문 29편을 추출하여 개괄적 특성분석, 프로그램 내용분석, 질적지표 분석을 시행하였다. 초등학생 성교육 프로그램 연구는 2000년 5편으로 시작하여 현재까지 매년 1~4편으로 꾸준히 연구되고 있으며, 대부분 초등 고학년을 대상으로 실시한 것으로 나타났다. 연구 설계방식은 통제집단 사전-사후설계가 다수를 이루고 있었고, 이를 측정할 통일된 측정 도구는 없었다. 연구 중재자는 대부분 연구자와 담임교사 또는 보건교사로 나타났으며 종속변인은 성지식 22편, 성태도 21편으로 두 변인을 측정한 논문이 대부분이었다. 프로그램 교육내용은 크게 신체적 발달과 성, 심리적 발달과 성가치관, 사회적 발달과 성문화, 결혼과 가정에 대한 교육으로 나눌 수 있었으며 질적지표의 충족 여부를 살펴본 결과 대부분 6개 이상의 질적지표를 충족하는 양상을 보였다. 이상의 연구 결과를 반영하여 초등학생 대상 성교육 프로그램 연구에 대한 논의 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The aims of this study were to examine research trends of sex education programs for elementary school students and to conduct a systematic analysis of the characteristics of these programs. The current study also intended to suggest future directions in developing and improving elementary sex education programs. To achieve these goals, we selected 29 Korean academic journals addressing elementary sex education programs. The articles were analyzed through general characteristics analysis, program content analysis, and quality indicator analysis. Starting with 5 studies on sex education programs published in 2000, studies on this topic have been continuously conducted with 1~4 articles published each year, mostly focusing on upper-grade elementary school students. In terms of a research design, the majority of the studies administered a pretest-posttest control group design method, and there was no single unified measurement tool. Most of the programs were implemented by program researchers, class teachers, or school nurses. Regarding the dependent variables, most of the studies measured the two following variables: sexual knowledge (22 papers) and sexual attitude (21 papers). The contents of sex education programs could be widely classified into physical development and sex, psychological development and sexual values, social development and sexual culture, and marriage and family life. The qualitative indicators analysis showed that most of the studies satisfied six or more qualitative indicators. Based on the current findings, the directions for further research were also discussed.
