영문 초록

This paper retrospects and reviewes books and articles that have been published by Korean authors concerning Japanese Studies that focus economy and business administration during last 40years in Korea. Unfortunately we could not get all publications for Japanese Studies concerned literature, so we limited our review target to 185 books and 337 articles. Perhaps 185 volumes of book may cover over 80% of whole ones which have been published during target period. But 337 articles are limited to 7 Journals including major Journal in economics and business adminstration, of course that deals with japanese studies in Korea that have been issued since 1960s, so it at most may result in covering about 60% of whole articles published during target period. Particularly we could not include many economic history articles which deal with korean economy under japanese colonial government, also not cover korean economic issues of 1950s and 1960s before development dictatorship by President Park Chung-Hee. The main fact found in this paper can be listed as below. Firstly Korean authors writed most actively and positively books and articles about Japan and Japanese in 1990s in that times Japanese Government pursued strong globalization strategy including far east asia. In 1990s many korean student went to Japan and returned to enter universities as professor and researcher. Justly there were trend to strengthen Japanese Studies and Chinese Studies in Korean university under the auspices of Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development. This trend resulted in installing rush new Japanese Studies department. But in 2000s, as the enthusiasm for supporting Japanese studies in universities and government subsidiary was weakend, so many researcher have to turn his academic attentions to other issues that does not relate with Japanese Studies. Secondly, famous books or articles that have been appreciated in Japan and around the world were too few although original writings dealt with in this paper reachs to 400 and over. When thinking of the fact Korea is the most near neighbour country to Japan and many of Korean can speak Japanese fluently than any other nations, this fact reveal that korean researchers` ability and effort did not reach to international level, so it is needed with more affection and passion to study Japanese Studies in depth.
