영문 초록

This research focused on the relationship between Lee Si-heon and Jeong Yak-yong. Also focused on Lee Si-heon s notion through his poetry and prose. Lee Si-heon was one of the principal disciples when Jeong Yak-yong lived in exile. Thus some anecdotes about Jeong Yak-yong recorded in Lee s collection 『Jaiseonsaengjip(自怡先生集)』 mean a lot. Because we can t find his vestiges in any other records. Lee Si-heon regretted applying for the state examination in his early days. He also felt ashamed of the lineaments of the time. So he retired into a country called Baekundong. He enjoyed his free life fully in there. Though he suffered from poverty and disease, he tried to recover his nature and discussed literature. And he educated young people in there. In his old age, he was interested in the Zen sect.
