영문 초록

The author investigated effect of Chinese dictionaries on development of Chinese literature and social culture in Korea. Representative Chinese dictionaries are Seolmunhaeja, Okpyeon, Yonggamsugyeong, Jahui, Jahui-bo, Jeungbo-jahui, Jeongjatong, Gangheejajeon. Among those dictionaries, Jahui-bo supplemented pronunciation and meaning of an entry missed in Jahui. Especially, newly written entry in Jahui-bo had been included Gangheejajeon. This means it should be described as meaningful in history of development of Korean dictionary. Jeungbo-jahui restored original footnotes, which Jang Ja-Yeol(張自烈) had eliminated in Jahui, and got distinctive characteristic in terms of footnote in dictionary by quoting Buddhism, Taoism, and astronomical information. However, Jeungbo-jahui never mentioned in history of Korean dictionary, even though it was published several times in China. Moreover, it is assumed that Jeongjatong is written depends on manuscript, which Jang Ja-Yeol enlarged 『Jahui』, rather than improve rough information on Jahui. Imported Chinese dictionaries were spread widely, and utilized to research literature, and create poetry and prose. 『Yonggamsugyeong』 is shown on journal of researchers, like Kim Jang-Saeng(金長生) who study ritual protocols (禮學). There is unusual case that Daegwangikhoe-okpyeon published in Gimhae Prefecture(金海府). Jahui used intensively to explain concept, because it is easy to search Chinese characteristics. Jahui-bo, which is supplemented version of Jahui, was mostly quoted to interpret Chinese characteristic, which has unique form. In addition, it is identified that Jeungbo-jahui accepted in Korean literature, though it is hardly known in China. Gangheejajeon was recognized as the most authoritative dictionary, but not accepted unques『tioningly. Therefore, this study reveals that Chinese dictionaries were used as a foundation to enhance practical science(實學) in latter period of Chosen, provided grounds to edit Korean dictionary, sourced to the book which organizes confusing shape of a character, and became the standards to decide the way of using Chinese characters in Korean.
