영문 초록

This study examines the poems of the Righteous Army leaders(義兵將) in 16-17th century under the category of ‘sword literature(刀劒文學)’. The Great leaders of the Righteous Army in Japanese Invasion of Korea in 16th century - Ko Gyeong-Myung(高敬命), Gwak Jae-Wu(郭再祐), Kim Myeon(金沔), Park Kyung-Sin(朴慶新), Yang Dae-Bak(梁大樸), Oh Kyung-Wu(吳敬友), Lee Dae-Ki(李大期), Lee Jung-Am(李廷馣), Lim Hwan(林懽), Jung Mun-Bu(鄭文孚), Cho Ik(趙翊), Cho Heon(趙憲) - wrote various kinds of poems which contain diversified expressions about the sword. The sword imageries of these swords - a grinded sword(磨刀), lean against a sword(仗劒), standing with a sword(依劒), stroke a sword(撫劒), a roaring sword in the box(匣中刀), the one sword(一劒), 三尺劒(three feet sword), an evil sword(凶劒) of japanese soldiers(倭敵) - mostly express the braveheart and the steadfast loyalty of the Righteous Army leaders as the Guardian sword(HoKukGum: 護國劒), and sometimes symbolize the loneliness and the frustration of the leaders, or show the shape of the coldsteel blade. Otherwise these expressions about the sword verbalize the courage of warrior who died on the battlefield, literary and military accomplishments of the leader[a sword and a book: 書劒], and a famous sword(名劒) or an excellent blade(寶劒). This study will be the basement of investigation about the korean sword literature in 16-17th century, and also help to study the sword poems of the Righteous Army leaders in the 19th century.
