소방공무원의 외상 사건 경험과 외상 후 스트레스와의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 조절 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 재난 현장에서 다양한 외상 사건을 경험하는 소방공무원 대상으로 외상 사건의 경험과 외상 후 스트레스와의 관계를 분석하고, 사회적지지가 그 사이에서 조절 효과를 나타내는지를 검증하고자 하였다. 경기 동부권역 3개 소방서, 300명을 대상으로 온라인 설문을 진행하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램과 위계적 회기분석에 따라 분석하였다. 분석 결과 외상 사건의 경험은 외상 후 스트레스에 대한 유의미한 정적(+)영향(r=53, p<.001) 을 주었고, 사회적지지 중 상사의 지지(β=-.17, t=-3.03, p<.01)와 동료의 지지(β=-.15, t=-2.63, p<.01)는 모두 조절 효과를 나타내어 외상 후 스트레스 완화에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 다만, 가족지지는 유의미하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 사회적지지 자원 중 상사와 동료의 지지를 외상 후 스트레스의 완화 수단으로 활용하고, 조절 효과가 유의미하게 높았던 상사지지의 유형을 다양하게 개발하여 적극적으로 활용하여야 할 것이다. 아울러 본 연구는 소방공무원과 밀접한 인적자원을 중심으로 사회적지지의 조절효과를 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between traumatic experiences and post-traumatic stress in fire officials who experienced various traumatic incidents at disaster sites, and to verify whether social support has a moderating effect on the relationship. 300 firefighters at three fire stations in eastern Gyeonggi Province were surveyed online, and the collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program and the hierarchical analysis method. The findings showed that traumatic experiences had a significantly positive effect on post-traumatic stress, and both the superiors’ support and their colleagues’ social support had a positive effect on the mitigation of post-traumatic stress. However, the effect of family support was found to be insignificant. Therefore, the social support from superiors and colleagues should be utilized as a means of mitigating post-traumatic stress, and various types of support from superiors should be developed and actively utilized. In addition, this study is significant in that it looked into the moderating effect of social support, focusing on human resources closely related to firefighters.
