대학생 학습 불만족 결정 요인

학령인구가 감소에 따라 학생들의 대학간 이동이 어느 때보다도 자유로워졌다. 오늘날 대학들은 학생 이탈을 최소화는 방안으로 불만요인을 찾아내어 해소하는 방안을 강구하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 학생들의 학습 경험 결과를 표현한 부정적인 피드백을 분석하여 학습 불만족 결정요인들을 텍스트마이닝 접근법을 통해 찾아내고 해소 방안을 제시하여 수업의 질 개선 및 만족도 향상을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 2019년 2학기 9개 수업 참여 학생 250명으로 부터 학습 경험 텍스트 피드백 411개 리뷰를 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 네 가지 주요 결정 요인으로 ‘교수 수업 방식’,‘컴퓨터 실습실 환경 부실’,‘팀별 과제 혼동’,‘실습 수업의 어려움’을 찾아냈다. 이는 대부분 불만 요인이 교육과정, 교수법, 수업 환경과 관련된 것임을 알 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 불만족을 사전에 예방하기 위해서는 학생과 교수간 자유로운 상호작용 향상은 물론 학생 지향적 교수법을 도입해야 한다. 또한 대학은 학생에 효율적인 학문적 서비스를 제공해야 한다. 즉 학생들이 교육과정의 이해, 도서관 자원이나 기술적 자원을 만족스럽게 활용할 수 있는 환경을 갖추어야 한다. 본 연구는 대학생들의 텍스트 기반 학습 불만 요인을 텍스트 마이닝 접근법을 사용하여 도출할 수 있는 방법론을 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

With the decrease in the school-age population, students have more freedom than ever before to move between universities. Today, universities are looking for ways to find and resolve dissatisfaction factors as a way to minimize student dropout. Therefore, this study aims to improve the quality of classes and improve satisfaction by analyzing negative feedback expressing the results of students learning experience, finding the determinants of learning dissatisfaction through a text mining approach, and suggesting solutions. To this end, we analyzed 411 reviews of learning experience text feedback from 250 students participating in 9 classes in the second semester of 2019. The results of the analysis identified four major determinants: the teaching method of the professor, the poor environment in the computer lab, confusion of tasks for each team, and difficulty in hands-on lessons. The results of this analysis show that most of the dissatisfaction factors are related to the curriculum, teaching method, and classroom environment. Therefore, in order to prevent such dissatisfaction in advance, it is necessary to introduce a student-friendly teaching method as well as improving free interaction between students and professors. In other words, it is necessary to have an environment in which students can understand the curriculum and use library or technical resources satisfactorily.
