국문 초록

본 연구는 중증지체장애인의 장애수용도와 삶의 만족도의 각 수준 및 상호 관련성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 한국장애인고용공단 고용개발원에서 조사한 제 4차 장애인고용패널조사의 데이터에서 연구목적에 부합하는 중증지체장애인(N=721) 패널의 데이터를 추출하여 통계적으로 분석하고 추론하였다. 이에 따라 우선 장애수용도와 삶의 만족도에 대해서는 요인분석을 통하여 유의미한 각 2개의 주요요인을 추출한 후, 장애수용도와 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것으로 가정되는 인구사회학적 변인을 중심으로 통계적 유의차를 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 주된 결론을 제시할 수 있었다. 첫째, 중증지체장애인의 장애수용도는 중간 수준으로 나타났으며, 학력, 취업상태, 혼인상태, 타인의 도움 정도, 주관적 사회경제적 지위, 종교, 차별경험 유무, 노후준비 유무에 따라 집단 간 유의차가 확인되었다. 둘째, 중증지체장애인의 삶의 만족도는 중간 수준으로 나타났으며, 성별, 연령, 학력, 취업상태, 혼인상태, 타인의 도움 정도, 주관적 사회경제적 지위, 종교 유무, 노후준비 유무에 따라 집단 간 유의차가 확인되었다. 셋째, 중증지체장애인의 장애수용도와 삶의 만족도 간에 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있음이 확인되었다. 도출된 결과를 토대로 중증지체장애인의 장애수용도를 향상시킴으로써 삶의 만족도를 높일 수 있는 실천적 방안 등에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the acceptance of a disability and the life satisfaction of individuals with severe physical disabilities. To this end, data of the fourth Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled were used. The total of 712 responses were used to analyze by using descriptive analysis, factor analysis, independent samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results were as follows. First, the level of the acceptance of a disability of individuals with severe physical disabilities was more or less low. As well, there were statistically significant differences among various sociodemographic variables such as scholarship, job status, marriage status, degree of needs of others help, subjective SES, religion, experience of discrimination, and degree of preparation for future life. Second, the level of the life satisfaction of individuals with severe physical disabilities was low and there were statistically significant differences among variables such as gender, age, scholarship, job status, marriage status, degree of needs of others help, subjective SES, religion, and degree of preparation for future life. Third, there was a significant correlation between the acceptance of disability and the life satisfaction. Based on these results, practical approaches to improve the acceptance of a disability and life satisfaction of individuals with severe physical disabilities were suggested.
