비선형 분수다항함수를 이용한 종단연구 영어성취도 성장선 모형화

국문 초록

국가 수준 및 시도교육청 수준의 종단연구는 학생의 인지적 정의적 사회적 변화와 성장이 어떻게 발달 되고 있는지를 평가하고 긍정적인 성장에 도움을 줄 수 있는 설명변수들의 관계를 탐색하는 것이다. 성장궤적함수를 찾는 것은 설명변수의 효과검정과 개인 간 차이에 대한 이해의 시작점이므로 가장 중요한 단계이다. 지금까지 대부분의 종단 연구자들은 일차함수인 선형모형을 적용하고, 일부 연구자들은 다항함수 및 시그모이드 성장모델을 적용하는 경향을 보였다. 이 연구는 선형과 비선형의 2차 및 3차 다항함수, 그리고 지수 성장곡선 등을 유연하게 표현할 수 있는 분수다항함수를 소개하고, 분수다항함수에 존재하는 여러 모형에 대하여 고정효과(초기위치, 성장률, 예측변수)와 무선효과 결과치들의 비교를 통하여 가장 적합한 분수다항함수를 찾는 과정을 설명하였다.

영문 초록

The educational longitudinal studies investigates students’ cognitive, affective, and social development according to grade and age, in addition to explore the relationship between explanatory variables that can help positive growth. Finding a growth trajectory function is the most important step as it is the starting point for testing the effectiveness of explanatory variables and understanding differences between individuals. Most researchers tend to have applied a linear function, while some have tended to apply conventional polynomial functiong or sigmoid growth models. This study introduces fractional polynomial functions fitting empirical data. It illustrates how the fixed effects and random effects change as the growth trajectory function changes to indicate the significance of using a growth trajectory function with good model fit, so as to emphasize to apply fractional polynomial functions with good model fit in terms of flexibility and parsimonious in longitudinal studies.
