국문 초록

본 연구는 현대 실천신학의 발전을 방법론적 차원에서 비판적으로 고찰하고, 개혁신학의 관점에서 바람직한 개혁주의 실천신학의 연구 방법론의 원리들을 모색한다. 특별히 현대 실천신학 방법론 발전에 큰 영향을 준 돈 브라우닝(Don S. Browning)의 방법론과 그 전개를 살펴보며, 개혁주의 관점에서 그것을 평가하고개혁주의 실천신학에 적용할 수 있는 방법론적 원리들에 대해 성찰해본다. 본 연구는 현대 실천신학의 방법론의 특징을 (1) 이론과 실천의 긴밀한 연결 노력, (2) 경험과 실천 현장(praxis)의 중요성 강조, (3) 실천신학에 대한 해석학적 이해, (4) 폭넓고심도 있는 이해를 위한 학제 간 비평적 대화의 방법 사용, 그리고 (5) 다양하고 창의적인 연구 방법의 활용 등으로 보고, 이를 비평적으로 평가하며 수용하여 적용할가능성에 대해서 살펴보았다. 이와 함께 실천신학의 학제 간 비평적 대화의 작업을개혁주의 입장에서 효과적으로 수행하기 위해서 바른 기독교적 인식론의 정립과함께 특별계시와 신학, 신학과 다른 학문 간의 분명한 관계 설정의 중요성을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

This study critically examines the development of contemporary practical theology concerning its methodology and seeks the methodological principles for the practical theological research in the tradition of Reformed theology. In particular, by examining Don S. Browning s methodology that greatly influenced the development of the methodology in contemporary practical theology, this study evaluates it from the Reformed theological perspective and finds the methodological principles applicable to the Reformed practical theology. This study outlines the main characteristics of the methodology of contemporary practical theology: (1) efforts to closely connect theory and practice, (2) emphasis on the importance of praxis, (3) hermeneutic understanding of practical theology, (4) interdisciplinary critical dialogue for broad and in-depth understandings, and (5) the use of diverse and creative research methods. In addition, it critically examines the possibility of critical acceptance of these features to the Reformed practical theology. In order to effectively carry an interdisciplinary critical dialogue of practical theology from a reformist standpoint, the importance of establishing a valid Christian epistemology and understanding proper relationships between special revelation and theology and between theology and other secular disciplines is emphasized.
