기후위기와 팬데믹은 하나님의 심판인가?

국문 초록

필자는 ‘기후위기와 팬데믹이 하나님의 심판인가?’라는 논제에 따라 신학적인 대답을 밝히는 작업을 수행해 보았다. 논문은 크게 두 부분으로 구분하여 구성한다. 첫째는 기후위기와 팬데믹이 발생하게 된 근본 원인이 무엇인지를 여러 학자의 견해를 근거로 설명하였으며, 또한 팬데믹에 관해서도 감염학자들과 여러 학자의 견해를 근거로 밝혀보았다. 일차 결론은 기후위기의 문제와 팬데믹은 하나님의 심판으로 판단하기보다는 인간이 초래한 인재(人災)로 간주하는 입장을 제시하였다. 둘째 부분은 ‘기후위기와 팬데믹이 하나님의 심판인가?’라는 논제의 내용을 집중적으로 다루었는데, 이 질문의 대답을 제시하기 위하여 필자는 전제하는 것이 있는데, 먼저 기후위기와 팬데믹이 직접적인 하나님의 심판이라고 생각하지는 않지만, 하나님의 심판과 전혀 무관한 것으로 단정하기도 어렵다는 입장을 전제하였다. 이유는 기후위기와 팬데믹이 인재(人災)와 천재(天災)의 관점 사이의 연관성 때문이다. 필자는 기후위기와 팬데믹이 하나님의 심판으로 여겨지는 근거로 세 가지 신학적인 개연성을 제시하였다. 첫째, 기독교는 전능하는 창조주 하나님을 믿는 종교이기 때문이다. 특히 기독교의 하나님 섭리 신앙의 중요성을 을 전제할 때, 기후위기 문제와 팬데믹은 신적인 섭리의 장중에서 발생한 일이며 그 가운데 놓여 있는 일로 판단하였다. 둘째는 인간에게 부여된 이성과 자유의지의 남용에 따른 인간의 관계성과 책임성의 의미를 거론하였다. 그것은 인간이 창조주와 이웃(인간)과 자연(창조세계)에 대한 관계성과 책임성을 가진 존재라는 사실을 전제하여, 인간은 원래 이러한 창조주와의 관계성과 책임성을 망각한 채, 하나님을 떠나 이성적 사고와 자유의지를 선용하기보다 마음대로 악용하는 무책임한 행동이 오늘날 전 세계가 경험하는 기후위기와 팬데믹의 문제를 초래한 것으로 판단하였다. 이러한 입장은 17세기의 역사적인 인물 코메니우스의 신학적인 관점에 근거하여 거론한 것이 특징이다. 셋째는 기후위기와 팬데믹은 전 인류를 향한 하나님의 종말론적인 심판과 경종의 의미를 보여준다는 전제였다. 이것은 새 언약의 구원시대를 열어준 예수 그리스도의 전 인류를 위한 구원 사역에서 확인되는 것으로, 역사의 종말을 전제한 최후 심판을 예고해 준 것에 근거하였으며, 이러한 심판은 그리스도의 재림과 더불어 이루어질 것을 예고해 준 것에 근거하였다. 필자는 오늘날 기후위기와 팬데믹은 예수의 종말론적인 최후 심판 전의 징후와 여러 현상을 말해 준 것과의 관계에서, 은유적 유사성을 가진 것으로 판단하였다. 그리고 재림과 역사의 종말론적인 심판과의 관계성을 외면할 수 없다는 것을 강조하였다. 결론적으로 이러한 전제에서 기후위기 문제와 팬데믹은 오늘 전 세계를 향한 심판의 경종과 각성의 의미를 지닌 것으로 생각되며, 이러한 위기문제들은 하나님을 떠난 인류 스스로 만든 인재(人災)로서 그 문제들의 극복을 위한 책임도 인간이 스스로 짊어져야 하는 것으로 판단하였다. 그리고 이러한 위기문제의 극복방법은 무엇보다도 전 인류가 창조주와의 관계성과 책임성의 존재임을 인정하고 창조주 하나님과 구원의 메시아로 오신 그리스도에게로 돌아오는 인생길의 방향전환과 궤도수정에 달렸다는 것을 강조하였다. 그것이 이 시대의 전 인류의 위기문제인 기후위기와 팬데믹을 극복하는 비결이라고 생각하였다. 물론 기후위기와 팬데믹이 하나님의 심판 자체는 아니지만, 이 시대를 향한 종말론적인 하나님 심판의 경고요, 경종과 각성으로 알고 그 일에 대처하는 이웃과 자연에 대한 책임으로서 기독교적인 신앙의 지혜의 필요성을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

According to the thesis, Is the climate crisis and the pandemic the judgment of God? , I worked to reveal the theological answer. The thesis is largely divided into two parts. First, the root cause of the climate crisis and the pandemic was explained based on the opinions of several scholars, and the pandemic was also clarified based on the opinions of infectious scientists and several scholars. The primary conclusion presented a position where the problem of the climate crisis and the pandemic were regarded as human-made human resources rather than judged by God s judgment. The second part focused on the topic of Is the climate crisis and the pandemic the judgment of God? . To answer this question, I presuppose. Although I don t think it s God s judgment, it presupposes that it is difficult to conclude that it has nothing to do with God s judgment. The reason was that the climate crisis and the pandemic were linked between the perspectives of talent and genius. And I present three logical probabilities as the basis for the climate crisis and pandemic being regarded as God s judgment. First, because Christianity is a religion that believes in God the Almighty Creator. In particular, given the importance of Christianity s faith in God s providence, the climate crisis and the pandemic were judged as occurring in the midst of the divine providence and that lies in the midst of it. Second, the meaning of human relations and responsibility according to the good use of reason and free will given to humans was discussed. It presupposes the fact that human beings have relations and responsibility to the Creator, neighbors (humans) and nature (creative world). It was judged that the irresponsible behavior of using thoughts and free will at will rather than making good use of it, caused the climate crisis and the pandemic that the world is experiencing today. This position is characterized by the theological view of Comenius, a historical figure of the 17th century. Third, it was the premise that the climate crisis and the pandemic show the meaning of God s eschatological judgment and warning for all mankind. This was confirmed in the salvation ministry of Jesus Christ for all mankind, which opened the era of salvation of the new covenant, and was based on the foreshadowing of the final judgment premised on the end of history, and that such judgments will be made with the Second Coming of Christ. It was based on what I did. And I judged that today s climate crisis and pandemic have a metaphorical similarity in the relationship between the signs of Jesus apocalyptic doomsday and telling of various phenomena. In addition, he emphasized that the relationship between the Second Coming and the eschatological judgment of history cannot be ignored. In conclusion, in this premise, the climate crisis issue and pandemic are thought to have the meaning of the alertness and awakening of judgment for the world today, and these crisis issues are human resources created by humans who have left God to overcome those problems. It was judged that humans should also bear responsibility for themselves. And he emphasized that the way of overcoming this crisis problem is, above all, recognizing that all mankind has a relationship and accountability with the Creator, and reorienting and reorienting the life path to return to God the Creator and Christ, who came as the Messiah of salvation. I thought that was the secret to overcoming the climate crisis and pandemic, which are the crisis problems of all mankind in this era. Of course, the climate crisis and the pandemic are not God’s judgment itself, but it is an eschatological warning of God’s judgment for this era, and emphasizes the need for wisdom of Christian faith to know and cope with alarming and awakening.
