영문 초록

At first;we premise that cultivating Jeju people s world citizenship is a very important question for building Jeju international free city. This study is to present an program of the Education for World Citizenship(EWC) as an educational plan of its solution. For this purpose;we make clear the conceptional character of EWC;and study the question of damage of cultural identity;which can be appeared as a result of EWC at the sams time. We emphasize that EWC and Cultural Identity can be complementary rather than contradictory concepts;and that people of a world international city should maintain a multiple identity & citizenship in the times of international free city. Stressing this point;we indicate that the purpose of EWC lies in it. In addition;developing an educational plan;we suggest goals;contents;approaches of EWC. Putting them together;we show an example of the model program. Its summary is as follows. (1) Educational Goals: Cultivation of human being who is a korean in the world;realize himself as a Jeju person;take pride in being Jeju person;mid who fulfill his duty and responsibility as a member of world-community for the common good of the human race as well as who contribute himself to the development of local community. (II) Educational Contents: ① global ethics and citizenship education;② traditional culture and multi-cultural education;③ understanding international problems education and peace education;④ education of international communicational capacities and basic etiquettes. (III) Approaches: ① Through education in schools;② Through lifelong education.
