조선후기 아버지의 자녀양육과정을 통해 본 돌봄 담론 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 조선후기 한문학에서 아버지가 자녀에게 쓴 글들을 미시사적 관점으로 추적하여 자녀양육과정에서 드러나는 아버지의 돌봄 담론을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 조선후기 아버지 7명을 선정하여 아버지가 자녀에게 쓴 한시, 일기, 편지 등을 연구사료로 분석하였다. 연구결과 조선후기 아버지는 1) 아이에게 전념하는 돌봄: “돌이야 잘 자거라”, 2) 아버지의 책무적인 돌봄: “내 소홀함 탄식하누나”, 3) 아이와 아버지의 관계적인 돌봄: “봄꽃처럼 무성하게 되리”라는 돌봄 담론으로 나타났다. 조선후기 아버지의 돌봄 담론은 오늘날 아버지의 돌봄이 자녀의 영･유아기뿐 아니라 전 생애적인 관점에서 다루어져야 하고 끊임없이 자신을 수양하고 실천하는 과정으로 삼아 자녀돌봄을 넘어서 사회공동체의 돌봄으로 확대되어 나가야 함을 시사하였다. 본 연구는 조선후기 아버지의 돌봄을 미시사적 시선으로 재조명해봄으로써 아버지 돌봄을 새롭게 보는 기회가 되었다는 점에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the discourse of father s caring in the child-rearing by tracing the writings and letters written by father in the late Chosun dynasty with a microstoria approach. To this end, wes selected even fathers in the late Joseon Dynasty and analyzed poems, diaries, and letters written by their children as research sources. In the late Joseon Dynasty, the discourse of the father s caring emerged as engrossmental caring to the child: “Let s sleep well”, responsible caring: Sighing for my neglect! , and relational caring between child and father: Be lush like spring flowers . These results implied that the father s caring should be dealt with not only from the perspective of the child s infancy, but also from the perspective of the whole life, and it was a process of constantly cultivating and practicing oneself, and that it should be expanded to the caring of the social community beyond child caring. This study was meaningful in that it became an opportunity to see the father s caring anew by re-examining the father s caring in the late Joseon Dynasty with a microstoria perspective.
