국문 초록

2030세대는 기성세대의 안보의식 강화라는 목소리에 무관심과 거부감을 느끼는 경향이 있다. 물론 그렇다고 해서 그들이 남한이 북한식 사회주의국가에 편입되는 것을 바라는 것은 결코 아니다. 그들은 전쟁의 참혹함을 경험해 보지 못하였으며 그들에게 있어서 한국전쟁은 역사교과서에서나 배우는 이미 지나버린 과거의 할아버지, 할머니들의 전쟁일 뿐이다.‘한반도에서 다시 전쟁이 일어날 일이 없다’는 막연한 믿음을 바탕으로 하는 2030세대의 안보의식의 부재와 무관심은 자유민주주의 체제의 우월성에 대한 맹신과 정부에 대한 불신에서 비롯된다고 할 수 있다. 우리는 지금 세계적으로 가장 야만적이고 호전적인 정권과 휴전선을 경계로 대치하고 있다. 과거 군사독재정권에 의해 왜곡되고 변질된 반공정책(즉 민주인사나 무고한 시민을 빨갱이로 몰아가는 마녀사냥)에 대한 거부감은 2030세대의 안보의식에 지대한 영향을 미쳤다. 젊은 세대들의 정부에 대한 불신은 아직까지 남아있고, 이는 왜곡된 안보의식과 안보 무관심을 초래하였다. 북한에 대해 강경노선을 주장하는 모든 사람을‘수구보수세력’, 북한에 대해 햇볕정책을 주장하는 모든 사람을‘친북좌파세력’으로 매도하는 식의 정치적 편향성은 사회적 갈등과 혼란만을 가져올 뿐이다. 정세와 국익에 따른 탄력적인 대북정책 및 안보정책은 언제나 필요한 것이며, 이것이 소위 진보와 보수를 가르는 기준이 될 수 없다. 국가존립을 위한 안보는 진보와 보수의 문제가 아니며, 세대 간 갈등의 문제가 아니다. 안보 없이 국가는 존립할 수 없고, 국가 없이 국민은 존재할 수 없다. 따라서 국민들의 안보의식은 국가존립을 위한 마지막 보루인 셈이다.

영문 초록

The 2030 generation tends to feel indifferent and repulsed by the voice of strengthening the security consciousness of the older generation.
