국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등 사회과 교과서의 독도 및 통일 교육과 관련된 집필 과정을 성찰하고 자문화기술지로 서술하여 연구자가 경험한 의미를 해석함으로써 교과서 집필과 관련된 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 연구자인 나는 2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 초등 국정 사회과 교과서의 독도 및 통일 교육 관련 주제를 약 3년 동안 집필하면서 다음과 같은 재맥락화를 경험하였다. 첫째, 교과서 집필 방향을 설정하면서 교화보다는 비판적 사고에 근거한 민주주의적 애국심을 추구하고, 두 주제를 무리하게 연결하여 발생할 수 있는 오류를 피하고자 했다. 둘째, 교과서 텍스트를 구성하면서 사회적 논란을 피하고자 공신력 있는 기관에 의지하여 자료를 수집하였고, 독도 및 통일 교육과 관련된 터부된 선을 넘지 않기 위해 자율성을 줄이고 자기 검열을 강화하였다. 셋째, 교과서 활동을 구성하면서 교육과정의 취지를 반영한 활동을 삽입하되, 학생의 특성과 수준을 고려한 활동을 추가함으로써 학습 능동성을 확보하고자 했다. 본 연구 결과는 독도 및 통일 교육과 관련된 초등 사회과 교과서 집필 경험을 다룸으로써 글로벌 관점을 지향하며 동시에 국가·사회적 요구가 반영된 교과서 구성에 대한 새로운 통찰을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the writing process related to Dokdo and unification education of elementary social studies textbooks and to describe the meaning of the re-contextualising experienced by the authors with describing them thorough auto-ethnography. As a researcher, I have been writing the subjects related to Dokdo and Unification Education in the elementary national social studies textbooks for the past three years according to the 2015 revised curriculum. First, while setting the direction for writing textbooks, I pursued democratic patriotism based on critical thinking rather than edification, and tried to avoid errors that could arise by connecting the two themes forcibly. Second, while constructing textbook texts, they relied on credible institutions to avoid social controversy. I also reduced autonomy and strengthened self-censorship in order to avoid breaking the taboos related to Dokdo and unification education. Third, while constructing textbook activities, I inserted activities that reflect the purpose of the curriculum, and added activities that take into account the characteristics and levels of students to secure the activity of learning. The results of this study will be able to provide a new perspective on the construction of textbooks with a global perspective and national and social needs by addressing the experience of writing social studies textbooks related to Dokdo and Unification Education.
