영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate of Taekwondo Athletes Burnout Scale for youth (TABS). Total participants were 1,160 student athletes and 17 coaches and the study went through 3 steps (developing items, internal validity, external validity). In the first step, data were collected by open questionnaire and conceptualized by using content analysis and categorization. In the second step, EFA and CFA were conducted to verify internal validity. The correlation analysis and paired t-test were used to verify external validity in the last step. As a result, The TABS categorized into four factors: physical exhaustion, psychological/emotional exhaustion, environmental conflict, and reduced sense of accomplishment and motivation in the first step, however, after EFA and CFA, the TABS consisted of psychological and physical exhaustion 9 items, conflict with teammate 4 items, conflict with coach 4 items, and reduced sense of accomplishment 6 items. Finally, As a result of correlation and paired t-test, the TABS secured external validity. In conclusion, the TABS developed with 4 factors 23 items and identified as a tool to measure the burnout of Taekwondo student-athletes.
