국문 초록

세계화에 따른 환경변화로 조직은 기술변화에 적응하고 지식사회의 새로운 요구에 대비하지 않으면 안된다. 이러한 새로운 도전적인 환경하에서 지식을 전수하고 창출하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 이런 맥락에서 멘토링은 조직 내 지식을 전수하는 중요한 메카니즘으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 멘토링 기능의 선행요인과 결과요인간의 관계를 살펴보고자 한다. 설문자료는 울산지역에 근무하는 304명의 지방공무원을 대상으로 하였으며, 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외향성과 주도적 성격 등 개인특성은 멘토링기능과 유의한 정(＋)의 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 멘토링 기능은 조직몰입과 멘토에 대한 만족 등 직무태도와 유의한 정(＋)의 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구의 시사점 및 한계 그리고 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Under the increasing impact of the globalization, organizations have to adapt themselves to the changing technology and also prepare themselves for the new demands of knowledge society. Under these new challenges, transferring and creating knowledge play a vital role. In this context, the recognition of mentoring is an important transfer mechanism for knowledge within organizations. The purpose of this study is to investigate the antecedents and consequences of mentoring functions. Survey data were collected from 304 public officials who were working at public organizations in Ulsan area. The results of this study are summarized as follow: First, individual characteristics such as extraversion, proactive personality were positively related to mentoring functions. Second, mentoring functions were positively related to an public official’s job attitudes such as organizational commitment and satisfaction with mentor. Finally, the study discussed implications and limitations from the results and suggested several directions of future research.
