여대생의 캠퍼스 내 성범죄피해경험 두려움에 대한 위험해석모델의 검증

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 여대생의 캠퍼스 내 성범죄피해경험과 두려움에 대해서 위험해석모형을 이용하여 실증적으로 검증하고 이에 근거해서 정책적 시사점을 도출하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해서 2011년 11월 약 한달 동안 서울지역 여대생을 대상으로 실증조사와 분석을 실시하였다. 이 연구의 결과, 첫째, 캠퍼스 내 성폭력피해경험이 많은 여대생일수록 성범죄피해두려움을 더 많이 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 캠퍼스 내에서 성적괴롭힘 경험이 많은 여대생일수록 성범죄두려움을 더 많이 느끼는 결과를 보여주었다. 따라서, 성폭력 피해경험 변인뿐만 아니라 성적괴롭힘 피해경험변인은 여대생의 성범죄두려움의 통계적으로 유의미한 예측변인이었다. 셋째, 캠퍼스 내에서 성범죄피해위험을 더 많이 인지하는 여대생일수록 성범죄두려움을 더 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 다른 변수를 통제했을 때, 성적괴롭힘 변인과 성범죄피해위험인지 변인만이 성범죄두려움에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 여대생의 캠퍼스 내 성범죄두려움 감소를 위한 제언과 이 연구의 한계에 대해서 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to test a risk-assessment model for sexual victimization and fear of crime among college women students on campus and to draw the policy implications. The researcher conducted a survey of college women residing in Seoul Metropolitan Area in November 2011 and analyzed the collected data employing a random sampling. The findings indicated that: 1) college women who have been sexually victimized were more likely to have fear of sexual crime than those did not; 2) college women who have been sexually harassed were more like to have fear of sexual crime than those did not. The factor of sexual victimization as well as the factor of sexual harassment were statistically significant predictors of college women’s fear of sexual crime; 3) college women who have been perceived risk on sexual crime were more likely to have fear of sexual crime than those who have not. The factor of sexual harassment and the factor of perceived risk on sexual crime were the only variables that influenced college women’s fear of sexual crime by controlling the other variables. The policy implications to reduce college women’s fear of sexual crime and the limitations were discussed at the last part of the research.
