송대 차 타쇄도구 침추(砧椎)에 관한 소고

국문 초록

초 록 : 본 연구에서는 차 타쇄도구(打碎道具) 침추(砧椎)에 대하여 문헌과 회화를 통해 침추에 사용된 차 종류, 연다도구(碾茶道具)와의 관련성, 그리고 그 사용법과 형태적 변천을 살펴보았다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 침추는 채양의 󰡔다록(茶錄)󰡕에서 최초로 등장한 용어로 파악되었으며, 침추를 사용한 차의 종류는 병차(餠茶)⋅단 차(團茶)로 지칭되는 고형차(固形茶)인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 침추를 사용하여 고형차를 타쇄한 후에는 연다도구 다연(茶碾)을 사용하여 차를 가루 내는 수순을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 침추의 형태에 대해서는 그동안 남송대 󰡔다구도찬(茶具圖贊)󰡕의 침추 ‘목대제(木待制)’ 삽화와 <오백나한도>에 나타난 도구 그림으로만 설명되었 는데, 본고에서는 처음으로 북송대 <선화요묘벽화>의 주칠원반(朱漆圓盤)을 통해 침추의 그 선험적인 형태가 있음을 논하였다. 넷째, 침추 ‘목대제’ 사용법은 선행 연구를 종합한 결과, 그 내부 중앙에 속을 파고, 고형차를 넣은 후 봉을 넣고 추(槌)로 때려서 차를 깨뜨리는 구조인 것으로 나타났다. 비록 침 속에 열린 공간이 있지만 이는 타쇄의 기능을 위한 것이므로 연다의 기능과는 구분해서 보아야 할 사항으로 파악되었다.

영문 초록

This study examined the types of teas used in Chimchoo, the relevance of tea grinding utensils, as well as changes in the usage and shapes with regard to Chimchoo on the basis of references and paintings. The results are shown as follows. First, Chimchoo was first cited in Chalu written by Chaeyang. The types of teas used by Chimchoo for breaking tea were solid teas generally referred to as Byeongcha and Dancha. Second, following the processing of Chimchoo breaking solid tea, tea powders were made by utilizing Dayeon to grind solid teas. Third, the shape of Chimchoo was explained only by presenting illustrations of tea utensils Mokdaeje contained in Chajutuzan and tea painting Five Hundred Arhats of the Southern Song Dynasty. As an additional case, this paper argues that there is a precedent form of Chimchoo based on Juchilwonban depicted in Tomb Murals of Liao Dynasty in Xuanhua of the Northern Song Dynasty. Fourth, according to a summary of earlier studies, Chimchoo, Mokdaeje, is deeply hollowed out in the center; solid teas are filled; a stick is put inside; it is hit by a short stick called Choo; and solid teas on the bottom are broken. Although there is an open space in the Chim of Chimchoo, it is noted that this utensil is only used for breaking tea, and thus its functions are different from that of grinding tea.
