노인의 죽음불안이 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향 : 영적 안녕감의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 노인이 경험하는 성공적 노화에 죽음불안과 영적 안녕감이 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 첫째, 노인의 죽음불안 수준에 따라 성공적 노화의 하위 요인을 삶의 질, 과거 삶의 수용, 현재 삶의 태도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 노인의 죽음불안 수준에 따라 영적 안녕감의 하위요인으로 구성된 종교적 안녕감과 실존적 안녕감에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 셋째, 죽음불안과 성공적 노화의 관계에서 영적 안녕감의 하위요인인 종교적 안녕감과 실존적 안녕감의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 수도권(서울‧경기 지역)과 부산광역시, 대구광역시, 대전광역시, 김천시, 동해시, 정읍시 지역에 위치한 노인종합복지관, 노인대학, 문화센터, 경로당을 이용하는 65세 이상 노인 550여명을 대상으로 설문 조사하여 회수된 512부의 최종분석 자료 395부는 SPSS 21을 사용하여 분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과에서 죽음불안과 성공적 노화의 하위요인 관계에서 현재 삶 태도를 제외하고, 삶의 질, 과거 삶 수용, 종교적 안녕감, 실존적 안녕감은 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 이는 죽음불안과 영적 안녕감(종교적, 실존적)이 성공적 노화의 하위요인인 현재 삶 태도 외, 삶의 질, 과거 삶 수용에 직‧간접적으로 영향을 준다는 결과이다. 즉, 죽음불안과 성공적 노화의 관계에서 종교적, 실존적 안녕감의 매개효과가 있는 것으로 죽음불안이 낮으면 종교적, 실존적 안녕감이 높아져 성공적 노화 정도가 향상한다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of death anxiety and spiritual wellbeing on successful aging of the elderly. First, I researched the effects of sub factors of successful aging on the quality of life, acceptance of past life, and attitude of present life according to death anxiety level of the elderly. Second, I examined the effects of sub factors of spiritual wellbeing on the religious wellbeing and the existential wellbeing according to death anxiety level of the elderly. Third, I studied the mediating effects of the religious wellbeing and the existential wellbeing, which are sub factors of spiritual wellbeing in the relationship between death anxiety and successful aging. In order to accomplish this research purpose, I surveyed 550 people over the age of 65, from Senior Welfare Center, Cultural Center, the Elder s College, senior citizen(community) center and, the elderly general welfare center in the metropolitan area (Seoul and Kyunggi area), Busan city, Daegu city, Daejeon city, Gimcheon city, Donghae city and Jeongeup city, and 512 copies were collected. Among them, 395 copies were analyzed using SPSS 21 as final analysis. In the results of this study, the quality of life, past life acceptance, religious well being, existential wellbeing were statistically significant except the present life attitude in the sub factor of death anxiety and successful aging. This result shows that death anxiety and spiritual wellbeing (religious and existential) directly or indirectly affect the quality of life, past life acceptance and present life attitude which is a sub factor of successful aging. The research showed that there was a mediating effect of religious and existential wellbeing between death anxiety and successful aging. When death anxiety is low, religious and existential well - being increase, and the degree of successful aging is improved.
