영문 초록

“Taeseongbyeo” is an early-maturing and high quality japonica rice cultivar developed by the rice breeding team of National Institute of Crop Science, RDA in 2002. “Taeseongbyeo” was developed from a cross between Cheolwon 49 and Jinbu 10 (Jinbubyeo). This cultivar has early heading date of July 28, 74 cm in culm length and lodging resistance with sturdy culm. It is moderately resistant to blast disease but susceptible to bacterial leaf blight, virus diseases and insect pests. Milled rice of “Taeseongbyeo” is clear in grain apperance, low in amylose content and excellent in palatability of cooked rice. The average milled rice yield of this cultivar is 5.72 t/ha in ordinary culture of local adaptability test. “Taeseongbyeo” would be highly adaptable to the northern plain, mid-mountainous area and north-eastern coastal area in Korea.
