자음 청각 자극의 시각적 심상화를 통한 자폐 스펙트럼 장애 학생의 단어 쓰기와 문제행동 변화

국문 초록

본 연구는 문자소-음소 대응관계가 발달하지 않아 한글을 읽고 쓰는데 어려움을 가진 자폐 스펙트럼 장애 중학생 1명을 대상으로 하여 3단계로 구성된 ‘자음 청각 자극의 시각적 심상화 프로그램’을 적용하고, AB설계를 이용하여 단어 쓰기와 문제행동의 변화를 알아보았다. 대상 학생의 1)자음 청각 촉구 빈도, 2)자음의 시각적 재확인 빈도, 3)자음 당 쓰기에 걸린 시간, 4)문제행동 빈도 등 총 4가지 변인을 측정하여 쓰기 중 나타나는 행동의 변화를 기록하였다. 그 결과, 자음 청각 촉구 빈도, 자음의 시각적 재확인 빈도, 자음 당 쓰기에 걸린 시간, 문제행동 빈도 등 4가지가 모두 중재 구간에서 기초선 수준 이하로 점차 감소되는 변화를 나타냈고 유지구간에서도 중재구간의 낮은 수준으로 유지되었다. 이러한 결과는 시각적 심상화가 자폐 스펙트럼 장애 학생의 상대적 어려움인 청각 자극 처리를 위한 단서와 의도를 안내할 수 있고, 정신적 표상을 만들어 시각 자극과 청각 자극의 연관 짓기에 도움이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the variation of word writing and challenging behavior by applying visual imagery program for consonant auditory stimulus to autistic student who has difficulty in reading and writing Hangul since the grapheme-phoneme correspondence relationship has not developed. The following 4 variables of student’s behavior were measured to explore variation of writing by AB design; 1) the frequency of auditory stimuli, 2) the frequency of visual reconfirm of consonants, 3) the time taken to write per consonant, and 4) the frequency of challenging behavior during writing. As a result, all of the dependent variables showed a gradual decrease below the baseline level in the mediation interval and maintained at a lower level in the maintenance section. These results suggest that visual imagery can guide clues and intentions for auditory processing of autistic student, and can help to associate visual and auditory stimuli by creating a representation with mental practice and performance.
