영문 초록

In recent years, there has been an increase in social interest in environmental protection. Nowadays ecovillage movement is one of the most important social movements which seek after alternative society. The domestic and international growth of ecological tourism is remarkable and it continues to grow steadily. The characteristic of ecotourists is very different from mass tourists. The purpose of this study is to investigate the ways to development the programs of ecological tourism, focused on Seosan-city. In order to develop programs of ecological tourism at rural community, I reviewed related literatures and interviewed with government officials and scholars to enhance theirs validity and relevancy. In order to activate ecological tourism efficiently, attention and supports by local governors are required and local community participation is needed. The success of this movement depends not only upon the establishing a model of green life-style, but also upon the construction of the network among the local ecovillages. I introduced the case GEN (Global Ecovillage Network), especially the development of membership, organization, history and the activities, financial problems related to ecovillage network movement and its relationship to the other new social movements of GEN . Ecovillage movement should overcome the too diffusive, self-reliant management, if it wants to be a genuine alternative social movement in the times of environmental crisis.
