영문 초록

This paper provides a way of investigating the proper level of the KBS receiving fee, on which there has been few economic studies partly due to the lack of data. Using some micro level data from Korean Broadcasting Commission and Korean Broadcasting Company, and considering such factors as the relative economics size of the country, the publicness of the contents, and the effectiveness of the management we show that the current receiving fee is neither too high nor too low. Especially, current level of publicness matches well with the current revenue structure; 40 percent from the receiving free and 60 percent from advertizement. As for the fund for digitalization, we suggest it should not be a factor of increasing receiving fee.
