국문 초록

슐레지엔문제는 역사상 가장 논란이 많은 국경·영토분쟁 중 하나로, 독일과 폴란드는 1970년 바르샤바조약을 통해 오더-나이세 국경선을 인정하고 독일과 폴란드 관계를 정상화할 수 있었다. 슐레지엔을 둘러싼 독일과 폴란드의 영토분쟁과 이를 평화적으로 해결하는 과정에 대한 분석은 오더-나이세 국경선에 대한 인정과 양국의 역사적 화해를 위한 다양한 노력의 전개과정에 대한 포괄적인 이해뿐만 아니라 영토분쟁의 원인과 배경, 영토문제의 해결과정 및 그 결과에 대한 면밀한 접근을 가능하게 한다. 이에 본 논문은 독일과 폴란드의 접경지역인 슐레지엔문제를 살펴보기 위해 우선 독일과 폴란드가 어떻게 갈등과 반목의 역사를 협력의 역사로 전환하였는지 그 역사적 경로를 추적해보고자 한다. 또한 본 논문은 상호 이해와 역사화해의 성공적인 사례라 할 수 있는 독일과 폴란드의 교과서 협력과정인 독일-폴란드 교과서대화를 살펴보고자 한다. 더 나아가 본 논문은 한일교과서 및 동북아에서의 평화정착 문제와 연계해 슐레지엔문제의 현재적 이미를 조망해보고, 어떠한 의미와 시사점이 있는지 알아보고자 한다.

영문 초록

This article analyses the historical path and contents in the question of German-Polish border. Schlesien problems was one of the most controversial border and territorial disputes. The Warsaw Treaty between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Polish People’s Republic in 1970 provided the basis for normalization of relations of both countries through recognition of the Oder-Neisse border for the first time. The analysis of the territorial disputes between Germany and Poland over Schlesien and the process of peacefully resolving them provides not only a comprehensive understanding of the process of recognition of Oder-Neisse borders, but also a close look at the causes and backgrounds of territorial disputes, the process of resolving territorial problems and their consequences. In order to clarify analysing the Schlesien Question, first this article analyses historical development of the relation between German and Poland. This article also includes an analysis of the textbook dialogue between West Germany and Poland as the most successful case to enhance mutual understanding and historical reconciliation through bilateral textbook revision. In addition discussing motives, process, and results of the historical border question and the textbook cooperation between the two countries will be analysed. Finally this article tries to find lessons for the present problems regarding Korean Japanese history textbook problems and Peace of East Asian Community
