경제적 소외계층 아동의 스트레스가 사회적 불안에 미치는 영향: 자아존중감의 매개효과와 경제적 소외의 조절효과

국문 초록

이 연구는 Pearlin(1990)이 제안한 스트레스 과정모델을 바탕으로 경제적 소외계층 아동이 지각한 스트레스가 자아존중감을 매개로 사회적 불안에 영향을 미치는 인과적 구조모형을 설정하고, 그 적합도와 개별 변수의 영향력 및 경제적 소외의 조절효과를 살펴봄으로써 경제적 소외계층 아동의 자아존중감 향상과 사회적 불안감의 감소 과정을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 천안, 아산 지역에 거주하며 지역아동센터를 다니고 있는 초등학생 103명과, 단위 초등학교에 재학 중인 일반아동 103명을 대상으로 스트레스, 자아존중감, 사회적 불안 척도를 사용하여 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 Peasrson의 적률상관분석과 구조방정식모형(SEM) 분석을 통하여 분석되었다. 그 결과 첫째, 경제적 소외계층 아동과 비소외계층 아동은, 스트레스가 낮을수록 자아존중감이 높을수록 사회적 불안은 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아동의 스트레스와 자아존중감은 사회적 불안에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 스트레스가 사회적 불안에 영향을 미치는 경로에서 자아존중감의 매개 효과가 확인되었다. 셋째, 아동의 스트레스가 자아존중감을 매개로 사회적 불안에 미치는 경로에서 경제적 소외의 조절효과가 확인되었다. 또한 경제적 소외 여부에 대한 관련 변인의 간접효과 검증 결과, 경제적 소외계층 아동은 부분매개효과가 나타났고, 비소외계층 집단은 완전매개효과가 나타났 다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 경제적 소외계층 아동의 자아존중감 함양을 위한 앞으로의 연구에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Based on the stress process model proposed by Pearlin(1990), the purpose of the current study was to explore the improvement of self-esteem and the reduction of social anxiety among the economically disadvantaged children by establishing the structural analysis affected to social anxiety through the medium of self-esteem which was perceived by them and reviewing the suitability and the individual variables influence and economically disadvantage s regulation effect. The data of stress, self-esteem and social anxiety in the 103 community child center students of elementary school in Asan and the 103 normal students in same school. The collected data was analyzed through Pearson s correlation and SEM(Structural Equation Model). The summaries of major results of this research and conclusion are as follows. First, all of the normal children and economically disadvantaged children show the low level of social anxiety with the low stress and high self-esteem. Second, it is revealed that the stress and self-esteem affect directly to the social anxiety and the mediating effect of self-esteem was shown in the path where stress affects social anxiety. Third, The adjustment effect of economic alienation on the path of child s stress on social anxiety through self - esteem was confirmed. In addition, the indirect effect of the related variables on the economic alienation was different among the classes. the economically disadvantaged children showed partial mediation effect, and the normal children showed full mediation effect. Based on these results, we discussed the future research to improve the self-esteem of economically disadvantaged children.
