국문 초록

이 연구에서는 우리나라 기업들의 교육훈련감소추세에 대한 문제제기와 함께 그 원인을 파악하고자 하였다. 기존연구에서도 교육훈련의 긍정적 효과에 대한 연구를 제시하고 있으나 본 연구에서는 성과측정에 대한 변수를 보다 명확하게 추출하여 우리나라 기업의 교육훈련이 기업의 성과에 어떤 영향을 주는지에 대해 가설을 설정하고 회귀분석의 방식을 적용하여 검증하였다. 교육훈련시간과 교육훈련비용은 기업의 인적자원개발의 성과지표에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 실증되었고 교육훈련비보다는 교육훈련시간이 각종 성과지표에 더욱 탄력적으로 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나 교육훈련시간의 관리가 중요한 것으로 분석되었다. 아울러 국내외적으로 경쟁의 가중되는 기업환경 속에서 기업 관리자들은 인적자원개발활동 중 교육훈련의 중요성과 그 효과에 대해서 명확하게 인식하고 교육훈련을 통한 인적자원개발에 관심과 노력을 많이 집중함으로써 기업이 경쟁적 우위를 확보할 필요성이 크다는 결론에 이르게 되었다.

영문 초록

This paper presented the recent decreasing trends of education in Korean companies and tried to find out the their reasons. This paper tested the effects of education and training on the firm’s performance in Korea. We specified and tested six hypotheses. Our empirical results showed that the costs and hours of education and training has strong positive effects on the firm’s human resource development activities. Education and training hours have more elastic effects on the performance indices than education and training cost. So managers should perceive the importance of the education and training hours and manage these hours more efficiently. In more and more competitive global environment, the managers and workers should make every efforts to enhance the workers’ abilities by using human resource development programs, particularly, focused on the education and training activities. This study came to a conclusion that one of the best ways to obtain competitive advantages is to concentrate on human resource development strategies, mainly concerning the education and training programs.
