국문 초록

과학 교과서는 과학 수업에서 기본적인 정보 제공의 원천이나, 본문에서는 융합적 문제 해결이나 과학적 태도 등을 다루기 어렵다는 한계점을 가지고 있다. 교과서의 읽기자료는 본문의 한계점을 해결할 수 있는 해결책이 될 수 있다는 가능성을 가지고 있다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 2009 개정 교육과정 고등학교 과학 교과서 7종의 읽기자료를 내용 유형에 따라 8가지 유형으로 분류하고, 읽기 자료의 내용 소재를 분석하였다. 또한 교과서 읽기자료에 대한 학생과 교사의 요구를 알아보기 위해 전라북도 지역의 인문계 고등학교 1학년 학생 200명과 고등학교 교사 30명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 읽기자료의 유형을 분석한 결과, ‘과학의 진보’(26.3%)가 가장 큰 비율을 차지하여 교과서의 읽기자료가 고등학교 과학 교육과정의 목표를 잘 반영하고 있으나, ‘심화’(20.8%) 유형의 경우 교육과정 목표가 명확히 다른 I, II 교과서 본문을 그대로 옮겨와 인문계 고등학교 10학년이 학습하기에는 학생 수준에 맞지 않음을 확인하였다. 학생과 교사의 요구분석 결과, 읽기자료의 활용에 대해 학생은 중립적인 반응을 보이고 교사는 긍정적인 인식을 보였으나, 반면에 읽기자료의 지적· 정의적 효과에 대해서는 오히려 학생이 교사보다 명확히 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Science textbooks are a source of basic information in science class, but the textbooks have limitations that it is difficult to deal with convergent problem-solving or scientific attitudes. Reading materials in textbooks have the potential to be a solution to the limitations of the textbooks. In this study, reading materials of seven kinds of high school science textbooks in 2009 revised curriculum were classified into eight types according to the content types and contents of reading materials were analyzed. In order to investigate the needs of students and teachers for reading textbooks, we conducted questionnaires on 200 first-year high school students and 30 high school teachers in Jeollabuk-do province. As a result of analyzing the types of reading materials, ‘progress of science’ (26.3%) is the largest proportion, and reading materials of textbooks reflect the goal of high school science curriculum, but ‘intensification’ (20.8%) copies textbook Ⅰ and Ⅱ which are very different from the goal of curriculum, which is not good for students in grade 10 of high schools to learn. As a result of analyzing the needs of students and teachers, students stayed on neutral ground about the needs of reading materials and teachers showed a positive perception. On the other hand, students were more aware of the intellectual and affective effects of reading materials than teachers Respectively.
