오디분말이 난소절제쥐의 혈중 지질 및 항산화효소에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

심혈관계질환으로 인한 사망률은 세계적으로 증가하고 있다. 식이의 개선은 심혈관계질환의 유병율에 영향을 미치는데 플라보노이드가 풍부한 베리류는 산화손상과 염증, 혈전을 감소시켜 심혈관계질환 위험을 낮출 수 있다. 폐경 여성은 산화스트레스의 증가로 심혈관계질환의 위험이 증가한다. 오디는 플라보노이드가 풍부하고 생리활성물질이 풍부하다고 알려져 있다. 영양 성분의 감소가 가장적은 냉동분말의 형태로 가공하면 기능성 성분을 더 많이 섭취할 수 있는 이점이 있다. 오디(M. alba L.)를 분말이 혈중 및 간 지질과 항산화효소에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 폐경 여성모델로 난소절제쥐를 이용하여 효과를 실험하였다. 오디 분발의 첨가량은 식이의 5% 수준으로 하여 난소절제쥐에게 9주간 섭취시킨 후 혈중 지질 농도 및 간의 지질함량과 CAT, SOD, glutathione 및 GSH-Px의 활성을 측정하였다. 그 결과 혈중 HDL-cholesterol 농도는 높은 경향을 보였고, 간의 중성지방 함량은 유의적으로 낮았고, 항산화효소 중 GSH-Px 활성이 유의적으로 높았다. 최근 여러 식품이나 과일의 분말도 대용차로 개발이 되고 있으므로 오디분말도 대용차의 형태로 개발이 되어 차로 섭취한다면 대사증후군이나 심혈관계 질환의 위험을 감소시키는데 도움이 되리라 사료된다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study was to determine the benefits of a mulberry (Morus alba L.) supplemented diet on the blood lipids and antioxidant enzyme activity in ovariectomized (Ovx) rats. Two groups of female Sprague-Dawley rats, viz. sham-operated (Sham) and Ovx, were fed a control and mulberry supplemented diet for 9 weeks, respectively. The mulberry groups were fed the control diet supplemented with 5 g of dried mulberry powder/100 g diet. All animal procedures were approved by the K University Animal Care and Use Committee (KM 2013-32). The concentration of serum HDL-cholesterol in the mulberry group tended to be higher than that of the control group in the Ovx rats. The liver triglyceride level was significantly decreased in the Ovx rats fed the mulberry diet. The rats fed the mulberry diet had significantly higher glutathione peroxidase(GPX) activity than those fed the control diet in the Ovx groups. The present study supports the potential role of mulberry in reducing the risk of metabolic diseases. Teas are becoming increasingly appreciated for their versatility and many other applications. This is likely because of the increasing consumer interest in health and wellness. The potential health benefits of mulberry powder tea intake warrant further investigation.
