수학문제 풀이과정의 수준 평가를 통한 초등학생과 영재의 창의성 비교

국문 초록

창의성은 영재성 개념의 핵심 요소이면서 영재의 판별, 선발 및 교육에서 중요한 역할을 한다. 대부분의 수학적 창의성 평가는 일반 창의성의 심리학적 구인인 유창성, 융통성, 독창성을 중심으로 이루지고 있지만 이들 구인이 수학의 본질적인 사고력을 측정하지 못한다는 비판이 있다. 이를 보완하는 새로운 하나의 방안, 즉 수학적 문제해결에서 풀이과정의 질적 수준을 점수화하여 수학적 창의성을 평가하는 방안이 제시된 연구가 있었다. 이연구의 평가방법을 사용하여 수학적 상황에서 수학적 창의성에서 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위해 6학년 일반학생과 4학년 수학과학 통합 영재를 선택하여 두 집단 간에 수학 창의성에서 차이가 있는지를 검정하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 문제는 6학년은 익숙하지만 4학년 교육과정에서는 다루지 않은 도형·측정 문제였다. 이 연구에서 영재 학생이 더 수준이 높고, 더 다양한 전략을 사용하였음을 알 수 있었으며, 학생들의 해의 수준을 점수화하여 집단간 평균에서 차이가 있는지 알아보는 t-검정에서도 영재집단의 평균이 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 그러므로 문제 해결에서 나타난 피험자의 반응 수준을 고려한 평가가 수학 창의성 측정에 적합하다는 것을 보여주었다.

영문 초록

The creativity is not only one of key factors of the giftedness but also plays a crucial role in selecting, identifying and educating the gifted. The evaluation factors often used for the mathematical creativity are fluency, flexibility and originality, which has been psychological factors to evaluate the general creativity. So many researchers do not agree that these 3 factors are sufficiently enough to measure the fundamental mathematics thinking power. Therefore we offer a new factor complementing this weakness, discuss the validity of the new factor, and deal the practice to measure. In particular we investigate the difference between the grade 6th general children’s solutions and the grade 4th gifted’s solution on the level of excellency of the student’s solution to the given problem. This study reveals that the solution of the gifted is better than the general student’s solution, and the gifted used more various strategy than the general even the gifted is 2 year younger. We conclude that this kind of evaluation may be even suitable to measure the mathematical creativity. Key words: Mathematical
