국문 초록

‘온전함’은 ‘영적 돌봄’의 핵심 개념이자 최종 목표다. 이 논문에서는 ‘온전함’의 개념에 관해 그리스도교 신학적으로 성찰하고자 한다. 우선 성서적 성찰에 기초한 접근이 이루어지는데, 구약성경에서는 창세기 1~3장에 대한 해석을, 그리고 신약성경에서는 공관복음서와 바오로 서간에 대한 해석을 그 근거로 제시한다. 그리하여 기본적인 성서적, 신학적 성찰의 맥락에서 ‘온전함의 신학’을 제시한다. 그리고 보건의료 배경의 맥락에서 이러한 성서적, 신학적 성찰과 개념을 어떻게 적용할 수 있는가의 의미에서, ‘온전함을 향한 신학’에 관해 설명한다. 따라서 종교성과 영성의 관계를 다루는 동시에 온전함을 향한 초월적 ‘의미 체험’으로서의 영성 개념을 정의한다. 이러한 맥락에서, ‘치유’는 무엇보다도 온전함을 향해 나아가는 과정임을 설명한다. 마지막으로, 향후 과제로서 ‘영적 성장’에 관한 측정의 필요성이 제기된다. 이러한 측정 도구의 개발은 보건의료 현장에서의 영적 돌봄을 위하여 매우 중요한 과제다. 보건의료 현장에서의 ‘영적요구’에 관한 측정 도구는 이미 개발된 바 있지만, ‘영적 성장’ 개념과의 관련성 안에서 더욱 보완되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

‘Wholeness’ is the key concept and the ultimate goal of ‘spiritual care’. This article attempts to present a theological reflection on the idea of ‘wholeness’. It thus offers a ‘theology of wholeness’ which deals with the perspectives in Genesis of the Old Testament, the synoptic Gospels and the Pauline epistles of the New Testament. Moreover, this paper presents a ‘theology toward wholeness’ which demonstrates that a theological, biblical reflection on wholeness can be aptly applied to the context of spiritual care. This article also explains the relationship between religiosity and spirituality, defining spirituality as transcendent ‘meaning experience’ toward wholeness. In this context, healing is explained as ‘making whole’. In conclusion, assessing ‘spiritual growth’ is presented as the task at hand. This points to the task of developing a workable scale to measure and assess such ‘spiritual growth’ in the context of healthcare. These assessment tools will prove to be far more effective, if supplemented in relation to the idea of ‘spiritual growth’. This is because the scale to assess ‘spiritual growth’ focuses on the aspect of experience while requiring a more precise assessment of the qualitative aspect of spiritualty.
