장애유형별 창업아이템 선정과 창업성공과의 관계에 대한 연구

국문 초록

정부에서는 장애인의 자립생활 기반 구축을 위한 경제활동 대안으로 장애인 취업을 적극 지원하고 있으나 장애인은 여전히 인식 및 편견으로 취업과 직장에서의 생활에 어려움을 겪는다. 이러한 장애인 취업문제의 해결대안으로 창업이 제시되고 있으며 장애인 창업의 가장 큰 특징으 로는 비장애인기업 보다 장애인 고용률이 훨씬 높다는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 장애인 창업시 자신의 장애유형을 고려하여 사업아이템을 선정하는 것이 사업 지속기간에 영향을 미치는지에 대해 확인해 보고자 하였다. 연구 대상자는 2011년 1월 1일부터 2013년 12월 31일까지 재단법인 장애인기업종합지원센터의 ‘장애인 창업점포지원사업’ 수혜자 대상으로 다음과 같은 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구를 통해 조사대상자의 80% 이상이 자신의 장애유형을 고려하여 창업아이템을 선정 한다는 것을 확인 하였다. 지체장애의 경우 대부분이 서비스업과 도‧소매업, 음식점업 및 비알콜 음료점업을 영위하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 청각장애의 경우 기본적으로 언어장애가 수반되는 경우가 대부분인데, 창업아이템 선정에서도 고객과의 접촉이나 대화가 적은 단순 소매판매 등의 업종을 선정하는 것으로 나타났다. 시각장애의 경우 창업자는 모두 안마업 아이템을 선정하였다. 이는 시각장애 유형의 특성인 시각을 제외한 다른 감각기관을 활용 및 특화시켜 장애유형에 맞는 창업아이템 선정으로 창업성공률을 높인 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과는 장애인을 대상으로 한 창업지원 시 장애인이라는 특수성을 감안하여 창업아이템을 선정하도록 제도적으로 지원하는 정책이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Although the government actively supports the employment of persons with disabilities as an alternative to economic activities for building a basis for independent living, the disabled still suffer from difficulties in employment and life at work due to their perceptions and prejudices. As a solution to the problem of employment of disabled persons, entrepreneurship is suggested and the most important feature of disability entrepreneurship is that the employment rate of disabled persons is much higher than that of non - disabled persons. The purpose of this study was to determine if a disabled entrepreneur s selection of a business item, taking his/her own disability type into account, in starting a business affected business duration. From January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2013, the following research was conducted for beneficiaries of the Disability Business Establishment Store Support Program of the Comprehensive Support Center for the Disabled. Through this study, it was confirmed that more than 80% of the respondents selected entrepreneurial items considering their disability type. Most of the cases of handicapped persons are engaged in the service industry, In the case of the hearing impaired, most of the cases are accompanied by language impairment. In selecting the entrepreneurial items, it was found that they selected industries such as simple retail sales with less contact with customers or conversation. In the case of visual impairment, the founders selected massage items. It can be seen that the success rate of the start-up was increased by selecting the entrepreneur item that suits the type of disability by utilizing and specializing other senses other than the sight which is the characteristic of the blindness type. The results of this study suggest that a policy that supports the institutional support for selecting entrepreneurial items is necessary in view of the specificity of persons with disabilities when supporting entrepreneurs with disabilities.
