국문 초록

개인과 사회의 발전은 개인의 정체성과 삶의 질 향상에 매우 중요한 문제로 서, 개인과 사회는 근원적으로 발전을 지향한다. 이때 개인과 사회의 발전 개념을 어떻게 규정할 것인가에 하는 중대한 문제를 마주하게 된다. 이 글은 개인과 사회의 발전을 초월론적 존재론과 행복발전론에 근거하여 새롭게 구성하는 것이 목적이다. 개인의 발전에 대해서는 정신적이고 사회적 존재로서의 정체성에 비추어 자기실현과 인정에 대해 살펴보았다. 자기실현에 대해서는 우주적 본성을 지닌 존재에 근거하여 영성, 이타, 과정을 중심으로 개인의 발전개념을 재구 성하였고, 인정과 관련해서는 다중적 욕구와 사회적 책임을 강조하여 존경과 시민성에 대해 새롭게 규정하였다. 사회의 발전에 대해서는 발전의 양상과 주체 문제를 고찰하였다. 발전의 양상에서는 공리주의에 기초하는 근대 물질문명의 경제환원론적 발전이 아니라 행복지수의 개발을 통한 삶의 질 평가가 중요성을 지적하였다. 그리고 발전의 주체에 대해서는 국가가 아니라 개인이 발전의 주체가 되어야 하며, 공공영역의 의사결정뿐만 아니라 시장과 시민사회에서의 공정한 참여를 중시하였다. 끝으로 개인과 사회의 발전은 서로 밀접하게 상호작용하 는데, 비록 양자를 독립항으로 설정하더라도, 이중주의 화음처럼 조화를 이루는 것이 개인의 행복과 조화로운 사회 건설에 중요하다는 것을 강조하였다

영문 초록

An Individual and society fundamentally aim for their own development because the development of individual and society is very critical to the identity and life quality of an individual. At this juncture, we confront the problem of how to define the development of an individual and society. The purpose of this paper is to construct the concept of individual and societal development based on the transcendental ontology and theory of happiness development. In the development of individuals, I inquired of self-actualization and acknowledge considering the mental and social identity of a man. I focus my works on spirituality, altruism, and process of the self-actualization, and respect and citizenship of the acknowledge. In the development of society, I studied on the developmental aspect and agent. Of the developmental aspect, I put emphasis on that the development of a society should not be evaluated by the material development, but by the happiness of the people. Of the developmental agent, I argued that individuals must be the principals of the societal development, and that it is important for the individuals to fairly participate in the market and civil society as well as in the public sphere. Finally, I proposed that individual development and societal development should be in harmony like duet for the happiness of all the people in a society and balanced societal development.
