국문 초록

대중문화 산업이 확장되면서, 콘텐츠에 대한 공급을 지속적으로 요구한다. 역사 기록물은 이 요구를 충족시키는 공급원이다. 대중문화의 한 흐름을 형성하는 웹툰 에도 역사기록물이 적극적으로 수용되고 있다. 웹툰 ≷조선왕조실톡≸은 역사 서사 로서 독특한 면모를 지닌다. 이 웹툰은 조선 왕들의 삶을 메신저라는 소통 방식을 통해 왕들의 일상을 그려낸다. 본 논의는 텍스트에서 드러나는 서사적 장치와 담화적 장치를 살펴, 역사기록물이 대중문화 콘텐츠로 변형되는 방식을 살펴본다. ≷조 선왕조실톡≸의 독특한 서사를 구현하는 것은 인물과 사건의 성격을 형성하는 언어적 장치와 시각적 장치이다. 이 장치들은 공적‧역사적인 것을 개인화하는 경향이 있다. 또한 텍스트의 담화적 특성을 구현하는 것은 텍스트의 시‧공간적 장치와 서술 장치인데, 이 장치들은 역사기록을 과거가 아닌 현재적인 것으로 인식하게 한다. 텍스트는 이러한 장치를 통해 역사기록에 대중적 특성을 개입시켜 현대인의 관점으로 재해석된 역사적 사건을 구성한다. 역사기록을 독자의 관점에서 해석하게 하는 것, 이것이 ≷조선왕조실톡≸이 역사기록을 현대의 문화로 수용하여 문화콘 텐츠로 변용하는 방식이라 하겠다.

영문 초록

As the pop culture industry expands, it continually demands the supply of contents. Historical records are a source to meet this demand. Webtoons, which form a flow of popular culture, are actively accepting historical records. The webtoon Joseonwangjosiltok has a unique aspect as a historical narrative. This webtoon portrays the daily lives of the kings of Joseon by using the communication method called messenger. This discussion examines the narrative devices and the discourse devices exposed in the text and studies how historical records are transformed into popular cultural contents. What embody the unique narrative of ≷ Joseonwangjosiltok≸ are a linguistic device and a visual device which form the character of a person and event. These devices tend to personalize public and historical things. It is also the textual, spatial and narrative devices that embody the discourse characteristics, which make the history records recognized as the present, not the past. The text constitutes historical events reinterpreted from a modern perspective by involving the public characteristics in historical records through those devices. To interpret them from the point of view of the current readers, which is one of the ways in which the Joseonwangjosiltok embraces history as a modern culture, and it is a new possibility of transforming historical records into cultural contents.
