영문 초록

It is impossible to establish a temperature norm for rabbit because of its extreme variability in this animal. The range however, has rather definite limits. The author has observed changes of body temperature of rabbits fastened to operation boards, etherizated, non anesthetized extracted of teeth, & extracted of teeth under ether anesthesia. The animals used in this experiment were white male rabbits weighing about 2㎏. The rabbits were kept in large cages in the experimental room & were never moved except to make the observations. They were then handled in such a way as to cause as little excitement as possible, struggle seldom occurring. They were fed on beancake daily 6 p.m..The temperature was taken per rectum by standardized clinical thermometers inserted to a depth of two or more inches and left in for two minutes. The temperature were recorded every thirty minute from 8.00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the observations of rabbits were made on for 7 day. The experimental rabbits were divided in 4 groups. 1. rabbits fastened to operation boards. 2. etherizated rabbits for 15 minutes 3. non-anesthetized extraction of teeth 4. extraction of teeth under ether anesthesia Conclusions: 1. I found in rabbits fastened to an operating board, back uppermest, for varying length of time. The all cases recorded gave a fall of 0.4 to 1.5℃ in one & one-half to tow hours. After reaching the minimum, the temperature remained practically stationary as long as the rabbits were kept in that position. 2. Temperature variations due to ether anesthesia showed that a fall of 1.0℃ in the first hour after the cessation of etherization, followed by a rise of 0.9℃ above the inital temperature in the subsequent two or three hours. 3. Temperature variations of extracted rabbits without anesthetized condition showed that a elevation of 0.2℃ to 0.3℃ in the first hour and returned to normal temperature. 4. Temperature variations of extracted rabbits under ether anesthesia showed an initial fall of 1.3℃ to 1.6℃ in the first hour after extraction of teeth, followed by a rise of 0.7℃ to 1.0℃ above the initial temperature in subsequent two hours.
