영문 초록

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease developed by the lack of insulin, characterized by an inappropriate elevation of the plasma glucose level and the change in carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism. Associated complications include macroangiopathy, microangiopathy, neuropathy and uncontrolled diabetes mellitus enhance the likelihood of virulent bacterial and fungal infection. Therefore ther are need of caution against easy exacerbation of the infection due to the decrease of the host resistance. The authors present the report of the uncontrolled type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus patient who had a mild skin disease initially, but progressed into a severe bilateral sublingual, submental, submandibular abscess, and treated with insulin therapy, incision and drainage, antibiotic therapy, which gave the patient good result.
