재가장애인의 정신건강이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 재가장애인의 생활을 정신건강과 자아존중감 측면에서 조명해보고자 시도되었다. 연구의 목적은 재가장애인의 정신건강과 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 분석하고, 장애인에 대한 삶의 질을 높이고 복지증진을 위한 실천적 제언을 하는 것이다. 분석결과, 배우자가 있는 재가장애인들은 배우자가없는 재가장애인보다 자아존중감이 높으며, 정신건강이 나쁘면 자아존중감도 낮아지며, 정신건강은 자아존중감에 유의한 영향을 미칠 때 생활곤란은 매개 작용을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 실천적제언은 첫째, 배우자가 없는 재가장애인을 대상으로 자아존중감을 높여줄 수 있는 자아존중감 향상 프로그램 등이 실천현장에서 마련되어야 한다. 둘째, 장애인의 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위하여 정신건강을 강화하는 프로그램이 필요하다. 셋째, 재가장애인들의 생활곤란에 따른 경제적 지원을 위하여 환경적 특성을 감안한 취업알선프로그램, 장애인작업장 등을 설치하여 경제적 지원을 통한 생활곤란에 대한 예방이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study started with the purpose of examining the life of domestic disabled people in the aspect of mental health and self-esteem. Mental health is to understand how much domestic capability disabled people exert and how mature they are mentally, and self-esteem refers to accepting oneself positively and views oneself as a valuable human being. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of the mental health of domestic disabled people on self-esteem, and present implications for improving the quality of life and well-being of disabled people. The result showed that domestic disabled people with spouses had higher self-esteem than those without spouses, and when mental health had a significant effect on self-esteem, difficulties in daily life served a mediating role. Based on the result of the study, the followings can be presented as practical suggestions. First, for disabled people without spouses, practical programs to raise their self-esteem should be prepared. Second, to raise the quality of life of the disabled, programs should be made to improve their mental health. Third, employment programs and work places for the disabled should be established so that such financial support can prevent difficulties in daily life of domestic disabled people.
