Since the Industrial Revolution, the information revolution has remarkably changed our life. In particular, scientific technology becomes merged with other fields than a single one, unlike before. When neighboring academic techniques become converged, they may develop into newer technology, producing new goods. As importance is now attached to convergence and innovation, it is also necessary to provide education based on convergence of liberal arts, natural science, and art, not on independent academic areas, from a converged viewpoint and perspective of society, economy, environment, art, and value pursuit at school. It is therefore necessary to make a plan for convergence education to prepare for future society, giving consideration to students' levels. In other words, it is necessary to reconstruct the curriculum, taking students' interest, characteristics, and the situation of the school into account, and to develop and apply an education program, instead of teaching predefined learning contents. Subject convergence/connection instruction is to mix subjects and draw a new concept on the basis of overlapped principles or common items among the subjects. Convergence instruction is not only effective in reducing the learning burden for students in a subject-based classroom instruction but also in improving creative thinking and learning ability. It can also improve problem-solving ability for students and obtain a diversity of ideas. If one has knowledge in neighboring areas, which can be applied and connected though it is not directly related to knowledge in a certain area, it can play a crucial role in his/her thinking anew. Now emphasis is placed on education to predict and prepare for the future when students will go out into the world. So it is necessary to focus on cultivation of creative whole-person with eyes for the wood rather than for trees in pursuit of education for the future.
