포용적 디자인 관점의 적정인구 산출을 위한 신체생활기능 평가 항목 및 평가 단계 개발

국문 초록

신체적 기능손상 또는 장애 경험의 가능성이 증가함에 따라 신체기능약자를 배려하는 포용적 디자인의 활성화를 위한 기반조성을 모색하고자 했다. 이에 포용적 디자인의 적정인구 산출에 필요한 도구개발에 있어 하체운동기능에 초점을 둔 신체생활기능의 평가도구개발을 목적으로 했다. 대표적 하체운동기능 평가도구에 대한 고찰과 분석 등을 통해 예비 평가항목과 문항을 도출했다. 도출결과의 내용타당성 검증을 위한 재활의학과 전문의 5인 대상의 서면 면담조사 결과, 내용적 타당성은 확인되었으나, 점수화 등 문항 간 위계 이상의 결과를 도출하기엔 기존 참고자료, 연구 등의 부족으로 평가의 어려움 등이 지적되었다. 이에 평가문항의 간소화 등의 수정 보완을 통해 최종 평가항목과 문항을 도출하고 재활의학과 전문의, 정형외과 전문의 총 58명 대상의 서면 설문조사를 통해 문항별 능력도를 산출했다. 능력도 산출을 위한 설문조사의 분석결과, 응답자의 전문성에 따른 높은 의견 일치로 각 문항별로 특정 값에 의견이 집중되면서 자료의 편향성에 따른 비정규분포를 나타냈다. 자료 분포의 비정규성과 보수적해석을 선호하는 의학분야의 특성을 반영해, 각 문항별 능력도를 위한 대푯값으로 중앙값을 선택하고 이에 대한 신뢰성확보를 위해 비모수통계의 켄달의 일치도 검정을 실시하고 응답자간 의견의 일치정도가 매우 높음을 확인했다. 본 연구는 신체기능약자를 위한 디자인적 접근이 필요하지만 비장애 기능손상에 대한 연구가 부족한 상황에서, 의학적 전문지식이 없는 디자이너들이 상품개발 시 기초자료로 활용할 수 있는 평가도구 개발의 첫 시도라는 점에서 의미를 갖는다. 하지만 다음과 같은 한계점을 갖는다. 기능손상 제약에 따른 심적 어려움 등의 반영을 위해 의학전문가 대상의 설문을 통해 결과를 도출함에 따라 전문성에 근거한 판단이나 주관성을 완전히 배제할 수 없다. 또한 시간과 비용의 한계로 신체생활운동기능 중, 하체운동기능에 초점을 두고 있어, 다른 기능들과 유기적으로 연결된 신체기능의 특성을 반영하기에 제한적이다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 이론적 결과물로써, 실증적 연구와의 비교 등을 통해 보다 의미 있는 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 향후, 근력측정 등 기계적 측정 등을 통한 도출결과의 비교연구 등, 본 연구결과와 함께 종합적 접근과 개발된 평가도구의 실제적 적용을 통해 비장애 기능제약 손상자의 구분 가능성 등 그 효과를 실증적으로 분석할 필요가 있다. 또한 손조작, 상체운동기능 및 감각기능영역, 정신 언어기능영역에 대한 연구로 그 범위를 확대함으로써 신체생활기능 평가의 전체적 틀을 완성할 필요가 있다. 한편 참조자료 부족 등을 고려할 때, 산업적 활성화 이전에, 활성화를 위한 기반구축 등의 차원에서 관련 연구에 대한 학계의 노력이 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후, 포용적 디자인 및 관련 도구개발 등을 촉진할 수 있는 의미 있는 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대된다

영문 초록

As increase people suffering functional impairment with the advent of Risk Society and aged society, this study try to create foundation to invigorate inclusive design considering them. In this background, this study aims to develop an assessment tool to calculate appropriate population, focusing on the lower body affecting locomotion in terms of inclusive design. Through analyzing representative assessment tools of lower body function, preliminary assessment items were derived. To confirm content validation, paper interview with 5 physiatrists and orthopedic surgeons was executed. From the interview, while confirming the validation, some problems were found in scoring the hierarchical items since the lack of reference information concerning the non-disabled, functionally impaired. By reducing the number of the items meaning the functional capacity levels and mitigating the defects in terms of expressions, finalized assessment items were drawn. To obtain representative scores for each assessment item, functional capacity level, a survey was conducted with 58 physiatrists or orthopedic surgeon. Collected from the survey, the data were not normally distributed. Reflecting the non-normality of data and conservative tendency of themedical domain dealingwith human health issues, as the representative scores of the items, decidedweremedians located between means and modes, avoiding the extremities. Because Kendall's coefficient values, W‘s, were higher than .9(p<.000) from Kendall coefficient concordance test to confirmreliability of the representative scores, therewere greatly high agreement of respondents in the hierarchy. The results will be useful in estimating appropriate population as a part of building supportive environment for inclusive design. In addition, when new product designs related with locomotion are planed, as a referential standard, they can be used to determine the level of the design requiring capacity of the motor functions. However, this results could have limits from a theatrical research. Therefore, it could be suggested to execute empirical study to verify the effectiveness of the assessment system.
