영문 초록

This article compares "Shen Xiao Xia Xiang Hui Chu Shi Biao (CSB)" and its korean version "Qing Tian Bai Ri (QTBR)" in terms of their plots, characters, and themes. It is found that QTBR differs from CSB in three aspects. First, the korean writer deliberately adds and eliminates the part of the story in its development, consequently reducing the vitality of the original novel. Second, the artistic achievement of QTBR not only falls short of CSB in describing the facts about the characters and their personalities but also fails to come up to its complete translation. Third, the message of inevitable retribution shown in these two novels are instructive and expressed in a direct and indirect fashion.
