국문 초록

범죄자 유형 분석기법은 매우 유용한 범죄수사기법이다. 어떤 사건들에서는 이러한 분석기법이 유용하기도 하지만, 그렇지 않은 경우도 있다. 특별한 동기의 살인사건이나 강간범죄사건 수사의 경우, 매우 적합한 수사기법이다. 살인 범죄현장과 같이 범인의 동기를 잘 추정할 수 없거나 물리적 증거가 충분하지 않는 경우에, 심리학적 프로파일링은 수사관에게 사건해결에 대한 훌륭한 단서를 제공할 수 있다. 그래서 미국, 독일, 영국 캐나다 등 선진 각국의 경찰에서는 이러한 수사기법을 활발하게 응용하고 있다. 또한 同기법은 과학적 수사기법으로 간주되기도 한다 그런데 한국에서는 아직까지 이러한 수시키법이 별로 활용되지 않고 있다. 최근 점증하고 있는 강력범죄동향에 따르면, 그 중요성이 더욱 더 증가할 것이다. 필자는 본 연구를 통하여 범죄자유형분석기법의 개념, 목적 그리고 다양한 전략에 대해서 소개하였으며, 한국 경찰의 과학적 수사기반구축을 위한 형사정책적 대안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Criminal Profiling is very useful investigative tool. Some cases are more suitable and appropriate for psychological profiling than others. Especially, it is additional aid for the successful resolution of such as lust murder, rape cases and so on. For the homicide investigator in which the motives of normal killings are absent or physical evidences are not sufficient to detect, a psychological profile may be the good investigative tool essential to successful resolution of the case. So most of the G-7 countries(U.S.A., Germany, Canada, England, etc) are popularly utilizing this criminal profiling technique to violent criminal investigation process and it is also regarded as a scientific investigative methode. However, in Korea this is not currently utilized until now. According to frequent serious criminal cases, it will be more and more necessary for crime scene investigators. Through this study, I introduced methode, definition and goal of the criminal profiling strategies, it's current applying tendency in the developed countries, and presented criminal political alternative to Korean investigation police.
