영문 초록

This study is to investigate 'What we call death?' in the traditional funeral rites. And through that investigatioo, try to infer death cognitioo. which is implied in the traditiooal tiJmal rites. The result of discussion, we conclude that death cognition. which is implied in the traditional funeral rites is 'death is separation. of the soul from body'. But we note that the separation. of the soul from body is not accomplish at once. In the traditional funeral rites, death recognition method is death as a process After twofold, threefold confirmation. are accomplished, death is recognized. Funeral rites process prepare for confirmation. mechanism which is continued respiration. death, body cellular death, body rot completly death. Death as separation of the soul from body, which is ascertained through body rot completly, is a death cognition in the traditional funeral rites.
