국문 초록

이 논문은 귀금속 장신구의 산업화와 그로 인해 생성된 산업 장신구의 초기 형태를 두 가지 요인, 제작 방식의 변화와 대중의 사고 변화라는 관점에서 보고자 한다. 이를 위해 전통에서 현대로, 수작업에서 대량생산으로 이동하는 과정, 곧 산업화 과정을 조사하고 그 사회적, 문화적 요인들을 분석한다. 손과 기계 제작의 차이를 조사하고, 사용된 기술의 영향, 특히 주물 casting 기술로 생겨난 결과들을 파악한다. 이러한 것들을 조사, 정리하여 그들 간의 연결고리를 이해하고, 산업 장신구의 형태적 근거를 찾고자 한다. 광범위한 장신구 영역에서 국내 여성 귀금속 장신구를 연구의 범위로 정했고, 80년대로 넘어가는 시기를 변화의 시작점으로 보고자 하여 그 시대 전후의 자료를 위주로 조사하였다. 제작 방식의 변화는 일품공예를 장신구 상품으로 만들었고, 형태의 개념을 디자인의 개념으로 바뀌게 했다. 제작자의 작업 방식을 바꾸었고 그들의 기술력도 변화시켰다. 산업 장신구는 디자인의 개념과 체계를 생겨나게 한 것 외에 재화 가치가 아닌 자기표현의 매개체가 되게 한 데 그 의미가 크다. 주물기술의 활성화는 이를 가속화시키는 원동력이 되었는데, 생산체계와 기술의 변화는 형태적 측면에 영향을 끼침은 물론 제작 업체를 한 지역에 군집시켰다. 이렇게 생성된 산업장신구는 형태적 측면에서 부분보다 전체를 의식하게 되었고, 덩어리감이 커졌으며, 금의 순도를 낮춰 색상의 다양화, 상품의 대중화를 가능케 했다. 시대적 변화로 넓어진 대중의 안목은 당시 유행한 의복과 함께 상당히 대담한 형태도 만들어 냈다.

영문 초록

In this study the industrialization of jewelry and the initial forms of industrial jewelry created by the industrialization are viewed from the two factors, the changes in production method and public's minds. For the view points, the study investigates the process from traditional to modern and the process changing from hand works to the mass production, so to be the industrialization process while social and cultural factors are analyzed. The difference between hand and machine productions are investigated, and the influences from used techniques, especially the results caused by casting technique are reviewed. The results of the investigations and verifications are studied and organized so that the links between the changes is found along with the formational basis of the industrial jewelry. From the wide range of jewelry, Korean women's industrial jewelries are selected as the scope of this study. And, with setting the transition period to the 80's as the start point of change, the investigation is conducted focusing on the data from before and after the start point. The changes of production method caused the handcraft producing to become the jewelry production along with the change in concept from formation to design. The producers' work methods and their technical capability were changed as well. The industrial jewelry has a great deal of meaning not only for creating design concept and system, but for making the design as a medium of self-expression not commodity value. The vitalization of casting technique became the main drive to accelerate the process while the changes of production system and technology influenced on the formation aspect and gathered production companies in one area as well. The industrial jewelry became to be recognized as a whole rather than as a part in aspect of formation. And, it was increased while the purity of gold is lowered to enable variety of colors and popularization of the product. The public's taste broaden by the changes of eras produced very bold formations along with popular clothes at times.
