중등학교 교육실습 운영 현황 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 보다 내실 있고 실현가능한 교육실습 프로그램 개발에 앞서 교육실습의 주요 주체 중 하나인 현장 실습학교의 관점에서 교육실습 운영의 현황과 문제점을 검토하는 것이다. 연구자는 교육실습의 본질을 회복하고 내실화를 꾀할 수 있는 교육실습 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 연구로서 현장 실습학교 교육실습담당부장 교사를 대상으로 하는 설문조사 연구를 실시하였다. 특히 교육실습 프로그램 전체를 기획ㆍ관리하는 현장 전문가인 교육실습담당부장 교사들을 대상으로 설문조사 및 전화 면담을 실시함으로써, 교육실습 운영의 현황과 더불어 단위 학교 수준에서 교육실습이 어떻게 이해되고 있고, 어떻게 개선될 수 있는지에 관해 분석해 보고자 했다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 우리나라 중등교육실습의 특징을 방임적 교육실습으로 명명하였으며, 예비교사와 현직교사의 전문성을 높일 수 있는 교육실습을 구현하기 위해서는 국가 수준의 교원자격취득요건과 교육실습제도의 개선, 그리고 현직교사 인센티브제도 등에 대한 변화가 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Based on a survey method, this study attempts to illuminate how teaching practicum is being conducted in undergraduate, secondary pre-service teacher education programs, and to suggest both effective and sustainable ways of teaching practicum which will ultimately contribute to the desirable of pre-service teacher education and teaching expertise. For this purpose this study focused on the responses of 60 Department Heads of Research (who are in charge of planning and administering teaching practicum) selected from major cities and provinces by using the stratified sampling method. By analyzing those teachers’responses on questionnaires, it was the researchers’s main goal to highlight the facts and problems of teaching practicum. In conclusion, this study found that, in contrast with the long-standing ideal belief about the practice of teaching practicum, the local version of teaching practicum in reality turned out to be a laissez-faire one, where the quality of teaching practicum largely hinged upon that of an individual cooperating teacher or that of an individual school. Major findings of the research suggest that, in order to restore the nature of teaching practicum and to promote collegial relationships between the universities and the secondary schools, the Ministry of Education should need to refine both the national mandates for teaching practicum and the teacher licensure system, and to develop the incentive system for cooperating teachers.
