결혼이주여성의 사회연결망과 교육지원행위에 관한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 결혼이주여성의 사회연결망을 유형화하고 각 유형별 자녀교육지원행위의 형태를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 학부모인 16명의 결혼이주여성을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하고, QSR NVivo 8 프로그램으로 주제별 코딩을 한 후， 그 내용을 체계적으로 분석하였다 분석결과 한국인 연결망의 유·무를 기준으로 결혼이주여성의 사회연결망 유형이 도출되었다. 한국인 연결망이 있는 경우는 그 유형에 따라 ‘이웃·사회 중심형’과 ‘학부모 중심형’으로 나눌 수 있었다. 또한 두 가지 형태가 함께 나타나는 ‘복합형 ‘이 있었다. 한국인 연결망이 없는 경우는·연결망 부재형으로 구분하였다. 사회연결망 형태별 교육지원행위를 분석한 결과 한국인 학부모 연결망이 있는 ‘학부모 중심형’과 ‘복합형’은 가점에서의 교육지원 학교관련 교육지원할당, 심리적 지원을 통한 교육지원활동 모두 활발하였다. 반면 한국인 연결망은 있으나 학부모 연결망에 없는 ‘이웃 사회 중심형은 가점에서의 교육지원과 심리적 교육지원행위은 이루어지지만 학교관련 교육지원행위는 약하게 나타났다. 한국인 연결망이 없는 경우에는 가정과 학교‘ 심리적 형태의 교육지원 모두 약하게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 사회연결망에 다문화가정의 교육지원행위에 미치는 영향이 그 유형에 따라 상이하며, 한국인-학부모와의 연결망이 다문화가정 자녀의 교육지원행위에 있어서 핵심적인 유형임을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This research aims to develop a social network typology of marriage-migrant women and to examine the patterns of parental involvement by each type of network. The data used in tins study were collected from in-depth interviews with 16 migrant women who have school-aged children and they were analyzed utilizing tile QSR NVivo 8 program Following a 'thematic coding' scheme, 489 codes were extracted and categorized into 51 nodes. These 51 nodes were recategorized into 10 nodes through a clustering process. As a result, it draws two main types of networks based on whether or not migrant women have social networks with Koreans. In tile case of having ties with Koreans, there were three sub-categories (school parent centered, social activities/neighborhood centered, and combinational). There is also a group of people who do not have close ties with Koreans .. The major findings of this paper are as follows. Those who have school parent centered and combinational networks tend to provide their children with every aspect of parental involvement, such as educational support at home, participation in school-related activities, and psychological support. On the other hand, those who have either social activities centered/neighborhood centered ties furnish their children with educational support at home and psychological support, but are not likely to participate in school-related activities. In tile case of those who have no close ties with any Koreans, they are inclined to be indifferent to parental involvement. These findings suggest that tile impact of social networks on parental involvement are different by types of networks and having social ties with Korean school parents is a crucial factor in parental involvement for multicultural families.
