숲 체험활동이 어린이집 유아의 사회정서 발달에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 숲 체험활동이 어린이집 유아의 사회정서 발달에 어떠한 효과를 미치는지를 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 연구대상은 서울에 위치한 어린이집에 재원 중인 만 3세 유아 26명으로, 실험집단 유아에게는 7주간 14회의 숲 체험활동을 실시하였고, 통제집단 유아에게는 일상적인 표준보육과정 프로그램을 실시하였다. 연구에 사용된 측정도구는 Infant-Toddler Social and Emotional Assessment(ITSEA)이며 교사와 부모가 각각 평가하였다. 연구결과 먼저 교사의 평가에서는 숲 체험활동이 유아의 전체적인 사회정서발달에 효과적이었다. 하위 영역별로 살펴보면 숲 체험활동을 통해 유아의 유능성은 증가하고 내면적 문제행동, 외현적 문제행동, 부적응 행동은 모두 감소하였다. 다음으로 부모의 평가에서는 숲 체험활동이 유아의 사회정서발달의 하위 영역 중 내면적 문제 행동과 외현적 문제 행동 감소에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore if forest activities affect the socio-emotional development of young children at child care centers. The experimental group and the control group respectively involved 13 three-year-old young children (in five-year-olds class) who never participated in forest activities at child care centers, 26 in total. forest activities were administered to the experimental group for twice a week for seven weeks. The control group received child care curriculum standards. The Infant-Toddler Social and Emotional Assessment (ITSEA) was utilized for pretest and posttest. According to the evaluation by teachers, forest activities positively affected the overall socio-emotional development of young children at child care centers. In the subcategories, competency grew, and all the internalizing problem behaviors, externalizing problem behaviors and maladaptive behaviors were less frequent. According to the evaluation by parents, forest activities effectively reduced internalizing and externalizing problem behaviors among subcategories of socio-emotional development of young children at child care centers.
