한 · 일 남녀 고령자의 여가활동 비교연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 ISSP의 2007년 여가관련 설문조사 결과를 토대로, 한·일 남녀 고령자의 여가활동을 비교분석하였다. 이를 위해 교차분석(Cross tabulation)을 사용하였고, 분석대상인 한국과 일본 2개국의 총 샘플수는 519개이며, 한국 213개와 일본 306개로 나타났다. 한국의 남녀 고령자는 각각 89명과 124명이 샘플로 포함되었고, 일본의 남녀 고령자는 각각 155명과 151명이 샘플로 확정되었다. 한·일 남녀 고령자를 대상으로 TV시청 빈도, 문화행사참가 빈도, 친척 및 친구와 어울리는 빈도, 스포츠, 헬스와 걷기 등 운동을 하는 빈도, 특정 목적을 위한 자유시간 활동 빈도, 시간사용선호도, 자유시간 제약요인, 단체참여 빈도, 행복감과 건강상태 등을 중심으로 어떤 차이를 보이는지 분석하였다. 결론적으로 한국 남녀 고령자를 대상으로 추진되어야 할 여가관련 정책 과제로서 한국 여성 고령자의 운동 독려방안, 평생학습 체계 지원방안, 지역사회나 자원봉사 활동 참여 지원방안 등을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Based on the 2007 ISSP survey on leisure activities, this paper examines the ways that Korean and Japanese men and women over age 65 spend their leisure time and analyzes how they differ by country and sex. In order to compare the groups by both country and sex, this study adopts a cross-tabulation analysis methodology. The sample size for this study is 213 Korean participants and 306 Japanese. The Korean sample is composed of 124 women and 89 men, while the Japanese sample consists of 151 women and 155 men. The paper analyzes the differences between each group by examining how often each watches TV, participates in cultural events or group activities, attends family gatherings, and spends their free time on special purposes. Furthermore, the paper also considers the participants’ different preferences for time management, the factors that restrict their free time, their health condition, their emotional wellbeing, and more. In conclusion, the paper suggests appropriate policies on leisure activities for Korean seniors over 65 years such as plans to encourage women's physical activities, lifelong learning and volunteer work.
